Congratulations on your treasure, Thelittlefoxes! Beautiful!

I've been looking for the right colorway of Plumes for years now, always scoping them out on various resale sites, but never spotting one that really floated my boat enough to whip out my credit card. Finally, last week I stumbled on one while browsing a resale shop with a TPF friend. The color was perfect: a pale glacier blue with beautifully-colored feathers. But... the former owner must have mistaken it for her washcloth one evening-- that's how much foundation was smeared across it! And who knows how long she'd let it marinate in that beige mess, setting the stain in. I left it in order to think about it overnight, and then went back for it the next morning, deciding to gamble on getting out the stains with a good washing. Having looked at Plumes for years, I was pretty sure it wouldn't be smart to bank on being able to find the same colorway again if I didn't snap it up.

Happily, a wash seems to have purged the makeup stains, and I'm so excited to finally have my feathery treasure! My camera had trouble picking up the pale blue color, but you can kind of see it in comparison to the white photo sheet I laid it out on.

Thanks for letting me share!

Oooooh, this is excellent! Delicate and chic. The green feather bits are particularly gorgeous.
How great that your hand washing did the trick on someone else's foundation. (I buy a lot at resale and love the idea of circular ownership and passing around the love, but icky makeup--even if it were my own--is gross, LOL.)

Thank you so much for all the likes and lovely comments!

@911snowball, thrilled to hear that we're twins on this cloud-blue beauty! Do you know anything about when it was issued? My guess was 80s/early 90s simply because the consignment shop where I found it also had a matching blue waistcoat for sale, and I could easily picture that ensemble appearing in Le Monde back in those days.

Congratulations! This is one of the most gorgeous designs and one of my favorite CW! You are so lucky to find it!

This has been a tumultuous week of pre birthday shopping (my CC is shocked, bemused and annoyed and I will be reeling for some time to come).....but I think I almost passed out when I found this today when I picked up my Dip Dyes.

Look carefully in the pink and orange row, midway.....It was almost hiding....

bunnycat, I missed out on the 90 but got a shawl in this design. If I had one of the 90s, THIS would be it! I am so happy that you found this treasure! It looks so pretty on you!!! The shell border slays me! (along with those trees!)
Enjoy, sweet friend!
