yeah I see why they would do the price like that but its shocking to me. If I were them...I would start low and let it bid up. that is really just high.

This just seems to be following an all too familiar pattern . There is a frenzy over a scarf, ie a bidding war. And it takes at least two to bid up a scarf. The previous (in good condition) Geishas that I had seen had seen went only for $300-400.
So, at least one person wanted the scarf but did not get it, and might IMPULSIVELY buy a 2nd that magically appears out of nowhere, while she is unhappy at not snagging the 1rst

I was the second place bidder on the other and I wouldn't buy this for for sure.

Well guys......given the prices these days on eBay Muffin and I are abstaining for a while on bidding and buying unless it's something I just know I can't live without. And there aren't too many of those items. I just refuse to get into bidding wars and pay some of these ridiculous prices. I think when we talk things up here, it effects the pricing on eBay. Call me cynical but I've been around the block a few times and I'm thinking we're doing ourselves a huge disservice when we chat too much about certain designs....especially when I see the words, "grail scarf" in the description! LOL!!!!!
