When I was a little girl my mom gave me a hand-me-down red Coach envelope-style wallet that I carried for years! When I graduated from college in 2005, my mom gave me a Dooney & Bourke "It" mini gym bag in black with a matching zippy wallet. That was pretty much the start of my handbag obsession! :D

After that I bought a lot of Coach from a local outlet...

Then around 2011 when I had a really good job, I bought myself a pre-loved Louis Vuitton black multicolor sologne that I absolutely adored! Unfortunately I recently had to sell it. :crybaby: I'm currently a stay at home mom of a 7 month old so the bag just wasn't practical for me. I'm hoping to replace it with another LV eventually whenever I go back to work. For now, I live vicariously through the ladies here on TPF! ;)

My first was a little Coach (if that even counts) that my Aunt gave to me. I'm not sure if it was even genuine looking back. It was very cute, I'd still wear it today if not for the fact that the leather peeled. Came across it while cleaning up and wasn't sure what to do with it.

Second was a Michael Kors (again, does he count?). An outlet bag, but still very distinctive. Has snakeskin black print that I get complimented on all the time and a matching wallet.

Third is Louis Vuitton Mirage Speedy Noir. I've never been a fan of LV, just never saw the appeal but happened across this bag and thought it was so unique but ridiculously priced. Well...months later I end up buying it anyways haha, just couldn't shake it from my mind, especially after catching a glimpse in person at a consignment shop.

I know it's not considered "designer" these days, but my Kate spade Sam!! She was my first "gift to myself" after completing my first semester of nursing school (circa 98). I worked hard for that bag & got incredible service at the store (like everyone knew how important this purchase was to me). They made a broke college kid (who saved & saved for this) feel like a million dollars. That is why I remain loyal to Kate spade!!! :)

I gather the intent of "designer" is "lux," and I consider my first lux bag to be a pre-loved Proenza Schouler PS! Small Keepall in Midnight. I had a Marc Jacobs Paradise Rio before that PS, but the PS was so far superior to the MJ that I considered it to be in a completely different category. I received a ton of compliments on my PS, and an addiction was born :).

LV Reade PM in Rose Fluo from the collaboration with Robert Wilson. I saw it in the store window, debated for awhile, then took the plunge. I'd never spent more than $20 on a purse before that, but I loved it and still have it today.

My first was a Mulberry that an ex-bf gave me. Tbh i didn't really like it, it was this pale orange fabric and leather hobo. I don't know what happened to it, I think my mum took it.

Many years later, i bought a L.A.M.B and the funky urban style was much more me. That's when the love affair truly began... And I began to appreciate style and quality and material, things like that.

I started with a Coach bag that I bought in TJ Maxx. I was so excited to finally have a Coach bag! I didn't know that Coach had the FP line and the MFF line, but I felt let down when I found out it was MFF and not FP. I felt cheated, like I had unknowingly gotten the step-child. So then I got a MK mini-Fulton in the blue snake print. I still love it, but it's much too tiny to be practical for more than a day or two at a time. Then I went through the cycle with Kate Spade and Moschino and all that. I still have all those bags, although I'm starting to put some of them up for sale.

My first, and so far only, premiere bag is a Balenciaga Velo in black that I bought new while on vacation this summer. I love it, but I'm terrified to take it out! It's still sitting in my room in the dust bag.

I have my eyes on Burberry and Bottega Veneta next. The BV will almost definitely be pre-loved. Burberry may be either, not sure, although since I tend to like the Haymarket Check and they seem to have moved away from that, pre-loved might be more likely.

My first designer handbag was the Gucci Large Jackie Bag. I bought it off fashionphile as one of my first expensive handbags, since I loved Jackie O (and still do).

It came to me as I was shopping around for a Louis Vuitton Neverfull and I came across this particular Jackie bag. I've seen the other Jackie bags, but I liked this one much more as it had came with a strap, the dust bag and the box? for $795? Sign, Sealed, Delivered. Loving it ever since.

Am I a big fan of gucci? I mean, I would love to own a Boston Bag one day, but from there I am good on Gucci. A boston and a Jackie bag would make me happy from the designer. I love Iconic pieces and I hope to gather more iconic pieces from premier designers before my mid 30s (I am 22 right now).

I would love to own the following. :D

1. Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM (in classic monogram and damier ebony).
2. Louis Vuitton Speedy 35 (in classic monogram damier ebony, and damier azure).
3. Louis Vuitton Keepall 55 (in classic monogram or damier ebony).
4. Hermes Birkin 35 in Box Calf/Togo and Barenia (in black and gold w/ white trim. BOTH with gold hardware).
5. Hermes Kelly 35 in Box Calf or Togo (in black with gold hardware).
6. CHANEL Classic Double Flap Jumbo (in black w/ gold hardware).
7. CHANEL Reissue 2.55 Medium (Metallic Gold)
8. Fendi Baguette (In black).
9. Gucci Large Boston in Monogram
10. CHANEL Reissue 2.55 Jumbo (Black w. Gold or Silver Hardware).
11. Fendi Zucca Spy Bag Large.
12. Balenciaga City Bag in Black and Red.

Coach Leather Alexandra satchel in black. I bought the same style in Acorn and sold the black one. I love the Acorn one to bits...the strap started peeling 2 years after I bought it. Time to get it fixed as I am fond of it (although she did not get carried much nowadays).

I posted a while back that my first designer bag is something that my mom gave me when I was 8 years old....a Christian Dior leather bag.
I was at my mom's house and found it still there, haha! Mind you, she bought this bag during the late 70s (haha, stop computing my age :p:p) so the style is very vintage. Here's a pic:
