My first designer handbag was Coach. I had a few Coach bags in the last 5 years, but I'm currently carrying a Michael Kors. I plan to get a Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC soon. Those are all 'gateway' designers, I guess. I'm saving up for my very first LV bag, though I already carry an LV wallet :)

I had a few lower-end designers when I first started becoming interested in handbags - DKNY, Guess and lots of Michael Kors. But my first high-end bag was a Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 in Damier Ebene and I love it! Any suggestions for my next bag, I think I'll go for a shoulder bag? Thanks

I bought a Dooney & Bourke "It" bag when I was 17. It cost me $145 which felt like a fortune then. But my first proper designer bag was a Mulberry Tillie in powder beige sparkle. I only just got her last year at the age of 25.

My first designer bag was the Chanel Black Caviar Shopper Tote (gold hardware). I wanted a bag that was big enough to carry a laptop or ipad, kindle, sunglasses, small cosmetics pouch and notebooks. I soon realized that it was not as versatile as I hoped for it to be so I've switched to a Tumi bag instead. The little screws on the metal hardware started to loosen (lost two already) because of the humid weather here in Vietnam. Since then, I've retired the bag to my mom's closet in the States. I need to get new screws but can't be bothered with that now.

How do you guys keep your metal clean? I find that in humid weather, it starts to change colors a bit.

My first was a Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM in Damier Ebene. I needed a bag for university, and since this could also function as a purse when cinched, I thought I wouldn't need any other bags... Silly me :D
