My first designer purchase was actually 3 coach bags that I got from the myrtle beach outlet two years ago - a navy blue monogram canvas, a cream and gold leather top handle, and a small chocolate colored patent leather/shade/canvas tote.

My first high-end purchase was my Gucci black leather suown tote and Jimmy Choo embossed crock white bag that I bought with my bonus about a year and a half ago.

Mine was a See by Chloe Gavi Crossbody in Plaster. A lot of people I know don't consider diffusion lines "designer", but I found a lot to like about this particular one. I love Chloe but wasn't quite prepared to drop $1000+ on a bag, so I did a lot of research online and ordered this from NM.

Here's a pic I took when it arrived in the mail, I was so excited. I still use this bag, well, it's not even a year old yet. But I do see myself using it for years to come. The leather seems to be holding up quite well to moderate-heavy usage.

my first designer bag is gucci joy boston. it just beautiful *at that time* with white canvas and yellow leather handles. but now i rarely wear it because i just cant stand carrying a handheld bag although it def look good. plus after few years, i hate wearing monograms bags.

Still confused...
Can you clarify what makes something a "true" designer bag?
I'm not trying to be obnoxious, I really just have always wondered about this and I still don't understand.

some people might think that a "designer" is a designer that belongs in the premier designer list, thats what i meant by "true" designer

in the end it all depends on the person and judgement will be based on income, demographic etc.

Do you mean a designer like a specific person that designed something? Like Marc Jacobs or Rebecca Minkoff?
Putting quotes around something is not clarifying it for me.

If that's what you do mean, then Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermes, none of these would be "designer" since they are all designed, essentially by a company or a board of people and the actual person who designed the bag gets little or no recognition.
