I'm not understanding this, "I don't consider so and so a "designer" bag..." thing that people keep saying. What does that mean, exactly? What are the official criteria for something to be "really designer?"

It has to cost $1000+?

My first high end designer bag was a Burberry tote 2 years ago from my husband. It color transferred almost immediately so I returned it and ended up getting a Mono LV Neverfull MM. Unhappy with the quality, I sold it and bought my Speedy 30 Mono. That one stuck :)

First bag was a mini Soho in black leather from Coach, but it was a gift from an older boss when I was in college (I actually thought it was super creepy he gave me that.. I never used it because I'm not into small purses... gave it to my mom... )

The first bag I bought with my own money was (embarassingly enough) a TokiDoki for LeSportSac bambinone bag in the pirata print. I remember I really loved the rainbow zipper and the leather details. I used it for a couple of months in the summer, and then obviously found out it didn't really match any of my other clothes. I still have it, but since I bought it in summer of 2007, my style has changed a lot since then (I was 19 then, I'm 24 now) and it's wrapped in tissue paper in my closet. I've been wanting to sell it for the longest time, so maybe it's time to go visit the consignment shop.

my first designer bag was the fendi spy. sadly it doesn't get much use now as i have other bags that i use regularly and also it's a bit dated. plus it has quite a bit of wear and tear, i don't know why, none of my other bags show wear as much. maybe it's the nature of the leather. i do still really love its slouchy smooshy shape though :)

My first designer bag was my White/Multicolor LV Shirley clutch. It was a gift from my then bf/now hubby! I love that clutch!

This.

Haters gonna hate.

My first designer bag was a Coach satchel, and I still have it. AND carry it!

My first premier designer bag was a Louis Vuitton Alma. Again, still have it; still carry it.
