Remember the reveal etiquette? Life gets in the way, as we say it where I’m from— I reckon.

zinacef, being new, I had no idea there was a “reveal etiquette”. I found this thread https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/reveal-etiquette.946809/ and read through it. I understand both sides of the issue. I clearly titled this thread “journey”, I’ve found through life that the journey is as important as the destination and life is full of different journeys. These journeys are part of every human’s life and the sum of them is who we are as human beings.

On the other hand, I also understand that we live in a world today of instant gratification, where people go to restaurants, click a picture on their phone, and instantly upload to instagram. Consider me old school. We all can be impatient at times, myself included. I don’t have some huge mega reveal and never even heard that term before; it’s only sharing “my” excitement with others who might understand where I am coming from.

Since I didn’t even know this was an issue, I’ll speed this up quickly but at the same time respect my own journey through life. While some might think nothing of dropping thousands on any item, to me every purchase is a big deal. While I can’t please everyone, I’ll try to do so but still explain my journey in the form of a story … smell the roses. But I also see the point that after you’ve seen one Orange bag or box, you’ve seen them all.

Thank you:flowers:

Come on, guys, it was a long drive. But we are arriving!

It was a VERY long drive :crybaby:

Shopping Day

The big day arrives. Of course, it’s raining. It’s a tedious and slow drive with much traffic into the big city, something we can do without. Finding the place is a pain. Finding a place to parking is a major pain. They couldn’t put this store in a worse place for access? Why did they put this in a crowded place, with far to many cars, people, and no place to park? Just getting here in the weather was an adventure and finding the store, within a maze of stores, and underground parking, multiple levels added to the dreary rain. It happens but I got here,

I went straight to the handbag section.

Looking at the bag display, one thing my hub noted was how tiny some of the bags were. The Halzan Mini bag is very tiny as was the Verrou Chaîne Mini. I went to the store fully expecting them to NOT have the color I wanted or even the bag and I would have to order online. That would be fine, I have no problem doing that.

The sales lady was VERY nice, VERY VERY nice. She couldn’t have been more pleasant accommodating to us. She took the time to show me and explain to me multiple items. I can’t praise her or her patience enough. She immediately went to the back and brought back exactly what I wanted in the color I wanted. Hub asked about other bags he knew wouldn’t be on display or probably in stock there but she was more than pleasant to him and willing to work to let us know when something arrived. After reading Yelp reviews and similar things, this was not necessarily the experience I expected. But I can't say enough nice things about the sales staff.

I tried out the bag I wanted, made sure my stuff would fit in it, and it was perfect. Done. The saleslady went to wrap it up as I browsed through all the other goodies. Hub was bored and sat down. There is a LOT of nice things in this store. There is no way I’m in a rush to come back here soon. What else should I get?

OK, I know, everyone has seen a million orange boxes before. But I haven’t so I took the picture. Don't we all memorialize our first - a journey.

Yes, some of you ladies got it. I asked questions in the Bolide thread.

Bolide 31 with Palladium Hardware in Noir

Why black? This is my every day bag. Black goes with anything. I don’t “collect” anything, but use what I buy. So I’m not going to have multiple colors although red did cross my mind. Why a Bolide? The history of it was nice. I like the idea it was associated with travel in a motor car. But the real reason was I like its classic look. I liked its capacity to hold items without being a box like a Toolbox, in other words its “curvy and feminine”. I wanted two handles with a shoulder strap. This allows me easy access without dealing with the type of hardware like on the Kelly or Birkin. This access is important to me in daily life as I might be dropping or retrieving items from it constantly, like my iPhone. I can carry it open, if I choose to, without it flopping over. I can’t give more feelings yet about it because its been RAINING and I haven't used it much yet. For me, it’s perfect.

The lock. Does anyone actually use these locks or are they just decoration? I can understand them for a large travel bag but a handbag? Using the lock would be a major aggravation. I assume they are decorations.

(Macro shots of metal hardware are very difficult. Every speck, every bit of dust shows. If you see stock photos on websites of perfectly clean metal, that's difficult to do. As soon as you touch the metal, its dirty).

I love it, its perfect for me and more room than I am used to!!! I love it so much.

I saw in the “Reveal Etiquette” thread that some people like the idea of seeing bags in natural light rather than indoor light. Black is black but I will see what I can do about that shortly.

Yes, there is more Hermes goods to come, I'm typing it up as fast as I can.
