OP --- As you can see there are a wide variety of opinions as to which size is too big, too small, etc...... The bottom line is that you have to choose the bag that is right for you (whether it is the 40 or not). Try on different sizes and decide what is best for your height, weight, style of clothing, etc. You have to be happy with your choice and the bag has to work for your lifestyle --Good luck with your decision and looking forward to your reveal.

I don't want to judge you but I think that a Speedy used by a man, it can be a little bit weird. In fact, in France it's not often seen... The Keepall (45) seems to be the solution to have a big bag to use daily.

I think it just depends on how you carry it! and if your comfortable with yourself! I personal love mine!

Yeah you're right! Anyway I wanted to have a shoulder strap, and the Speedy 40 was too tight to carry my A4 books.

seriously! That's exactly why I don't entirely love my speedies.too tight to hold my favorite planner!

I wouldn't because I don't carry much stuff and it would be 9/10ths empty. But I have seen people (especially men) with a 40 for office/gym use.

Buy a Keepall without a shoulder strap, it's the twin brother of the Speedy with more practical space !

I think it's up to the person wearing the speedy. I started with a 25, moved to 30 and now I'm into the 35 for myself at 5'5". For travel, I use a 45 or a 55 depending upon the trip...

I love the Speedy 40 for an everyday bag but that's probably because I love the Sag which keeps it from looking like luggage IMO. Miley Cyrus looks great with her 40 in Celebrity Forum.
