Coat. If they were diamond studs it would be harder to make a choice though. But I don't personally like diamond hoops so it was an easy choice.

I have a Burberry trench and a Burberry duffle coat and I love them both. I never thought I'd be a coat person either but on my commutes and in the winter they really make it easy to stay warm and head out the door. Love them!

Coat. I agree that you may not find that style coat next year and regret it. I have done that. The earrings will always be available for another holiday and who knows, may go on sale at an even better price point.

Do you mind me asking price range of this type of coat? Is it at a store like Bloomiongdales or Nordstroms or Saks where they always have sales and promotions? I'm getting a rewards card in February from Saks that I could put towards any purchase - no exclusions. Perhaps you can get either the coat or earrings now and the other item with rewards ppoints in a couple months.

One year I didn't have anything picked for Christmas and a couple weeks before we went up to Woodbury. I ended up with a Burberry trench I hadn't even wanted. I wear that coat more than any other coat I've ever owned. It was one of the best purchases I ever made. I vote coat.

fancy earrings don't work for my lifestyle. And I'm a person who likes to wear my expensive stuff for practical things every day. If I save every item that I buy for special occasaions I'd never end up wearing anything.

So that's just me.

It really depends on your lifestyle. If you're like me as well, then get the coat (or even the bag).
However, if you don't work, don't have a hectic life, have lots of leisure time, and can lunch daily with friends and family, then you're fortunate enough to be able to wear nice fancy jewelry everyday. In this case, get the earrings!

Funny, I was telling my husband about this thread last night at dinner because I was wearing a Burberry dress and my white Burberry coat that I LOVE, and I was saying how come spring I am planning on picking up a few more dresses since they do double duty for work/dinners/and just lookin' nice. I was hinting about a spring trench.

Anyways, my husband's vote is to go for the earrings because you'll have them forever. And he thinks inside/outside diamond hoops look nice. So there you go.
