Would you buy this spy bag?

Here it is. Not the best photos... they don't quite capture the leather. The only thing I wish they hadn't changed... the original cognac handles were prettier... a richer color with more depth. Ever since the first run, the handles haven't been the same.

this is something which Fendi SAs told me in confidence.. that the cognac leather has a lot of probs cause it tends to fade or run... somthing to do with the dying process.. this was when I was choosing between the chocco or cognac one. Already the chocco one was in short supply and you have to be on the waiting list in Singapore.
I brought a ffew old Fendi Baguettes to a professional cleaner's ( specialises in designer bags and shoes and Chanel and Fendi stores sends their stuff to her... ) and the lady confirmed that she has seen a lot of probs with cognac leather... that she has had to repair/redye the colour. to date, she has not seen any probs with chocco.

Cognac is a beautiful colour but I think one spy is enough for me. Just to be objective and be really hard nosed about cost benefits....it is very distinctive and will age well... it is unlike the B-bag culture which seems to have fans collecting diff variations and ccolours like candy..;)

lucid, I think those problems with cognac were with the first ones - not the newer ones. Every older, original cognac I've seen for sale has been unevenly faded, etc. Anyway, I already had and sold (after much love) a chocco one... so this time I needed a change.

Okay, here's the secret. The store is Madison in Brentwood, CA on San Vicente. They have at least one of cognac, black and chocolate. The SA has no idea why the owner decided to put them on sale, but there you have it. (But no returns or exhcanges, finale sale). Go to it, ladies!

Thanks Cuteusername. I have much to learn. Yes makes sense it's the older cognacs that have found their way to the cleaner's. My chocco spy is Fall 06 colour, right? This should be fine?

My choco spy (recycled already!) was fine. Only the typical wear on corners that any bag would have with that kind of leather. I've never heard of any problems with that color, from any season.
