would you buy a made for outlet bag?

I don't see any difference in the quality of my MFF items. I have a MFF Zoe from 2009 that has better quality leather than many current FP items and is identical to the FP version except in the hardware color. My other two MFF bags are from last year. One is fabric trimmed in leather and is as nice as any other fabric bag. The other is saffiano and I like it better than the FP version because it has more pockets. The saffiano feels the same.

It's interesting that you reference the MFF vs. FP Zoe. I've had both, in medium black (one with brass hardware, which is FP, and one with silver hardware, the MFF version). On my black Zoes, the leather is noticeably thicker and chewier on the FP version than the MFF. However, the MFF leather is still nice and has worn well, and it's more light-weight, which can be its own blessing. I also think the brass hardware on the FP is heavier, though maybe that's comparing apples/oranges given that one set of hardware is brass, while the other is silver- so not sure whether the MFF/FP comparison stands.

I think it depends on the year they were made. I have the MFF Zoe that didn't come with the extra strap. I think the later MFF Zoes weren't as nice, and the one that was made in 2013 was horrible. I do remember years ago an SA at the outlet telling me that the leather on MFF was different, not worse, but different. Of course, I didn't believe her. Why would it be different if it wasn't lower quality?

The hardware on my large 1st gen MFF Zoe is HEAAAVVVY, but the bag itself is a whopper, so I guess heavier bag would equal heavier hardware? I'd love to get my hands on a FP Zoe to see if there is any difference.

eta: I meant to quote CF above.

Yes, it's very heavy on my MFF Zoe too, about the same as my FP bags from 2006 - 2008.

I purchased a MFF from their online outlet after stalking Coach for more than a year in search of a bag with red pebbled leather and silver hardware (to coordinate with my dog's collar... don't judge!) :p

It seems that's a combo they just don't do often. I purchased a Penelope and while I'm happy with it, because the red/silver was my #1 criteria, the lining is just "meh" and I wish the handles were padded. I'm more of a Sophia girl so can't help but compare, but those are just my design preferences and not necessarily something "wrong" with the MFF bag. I've had it for about 4 years now and it's holding up very well.
