Hey there arnott,
It's $12,700 for a .94 Fancy Intense in the US - so probably add about $2K to that for Candadian prices. (insane I know!!)

Hi Surfergirljen.. glad you've found my pics are helpful. I feel a bit guilty that the yellow diamond pendant pics i've uploaded did not do the justice. I am uploading a few more, hope these look a little better! But anyway you've tried on the cushion one already, so you know how it exactly look on you.

Personally i am a little biased as i've got the cushion one. But i do truly love the cushion one. it perfectly matches my ring, and looks very classic!

I like the pear as well, it is more unique in a way, but i feel it is less classic... also i think it depends on how big stone you are looking for. The pear has got only one round halo, so i think you have to go above 1.5ct in order to make it stands out...

pls see my ring pics for a reference... yellow one is only 0.49ct , but the ring has much bigger coverage than the novo ring ( 1.35ct )

hope this helps.. but you won't go wrong with either one really!

Thank you so much! LOVE yours... are they both fancy intense? So beautiful!!!

Okay - thank you all SO SO MUCH for all of your advice and choices!

So little update!

I went in today to do some more research... they had the 1.5 soleste there but no pear/YG ones to try on... but the SA was kind enough to bring out a .39 "diamonds by the yard" white pendant in the pear shape (which looked much bigger to me! Same as the yellow one I posted but in platinum and white) and a .99 carat pear white diamond ring out for me to play with (which was ridiculously pretty, just the perfect proportions) and I held it up to my neck about 20 times between trying on the stunning soleste again...

And I've definitely decided to go with the majority here and GO PEAR! :) :) :) How can THIS many TPF'ers be wrong? It was almost unanimous!

It DID feel more delicate.... every time I put the pear up to my neck it just looked so elegant and sweet! I am so surprised that I love the pear shape but I DO! I love the plain yellow too but for me, it's a bit too much yellow and I love the look of platinum and halos with yellow diamonds!

I spoke with my SA in NYC and this week they've been coming up with 2 custom designs for me to look at (drawings) to build a pear shaped .94 pendant with one row of diamonds around it. The difference will be that one will have a small bezet around the yellow diamond, and one will not (more claw set like the ring). I am definitely going to need your opinions again when they come in on Monday or Tuesday so please keep checking the thread for me!! I so appreciate all of your thoughts.

Also learned: Tiffany's pear shaped diamonds are all the exact same proportions (excellent cut/height-to-width ratio) so that's not an issue - but so glad someone here brought that up! I didn't even think of that! :)

Will keep you updated as the designs come in from the custom department!! (maybe when all this is over they'll be getting a few more orders!)

So exciting - I'm glad you chose the pear! Both ideas sound great! The one with the bezel would look larger I think, because of the added border of yellow gold. Somehow I think it'll heighten the yellow color of the stone as well.

I went to try on a .22 cushion soleste pendant in Fancy Yellow and it just blended right into my neck! It look really bad on me. I'm pretty yellow/tanned (hehe), so it just did NOT stand out on me at all. For my tanner Asian skintone, I really need to go for Fancy Intense. Also being that it's .22, the white diamond halo swallowed it up and pretty much concealed the "yellowness" of the main stone.

I *think* that if it didn't have the halo, it would look more yellow. And it was 30,000 RMB (Chinese currency, which is $4,500).

That was my problem. Even the fancy intense blended into my neck/chest and I'm so fair-skinned. I also tried on larger carat sizes, but with the halo it just looked too much for everyday wear. That's why the pendant isn't for me (which makes me sad since I won't have a complete "set") but I'm sure it will look great with other peoples' skin tones!

^ Yeah, my feeling is the soleste ring pops more because it's not totally against the skin like how a pendant would be...it's lifted up more because of it being a ring. I dunno, it just wasn't a WOW experience when I handled it in real life and put it against my neck. I've seen larger than the .22 that I tried on too, and it just looked a little too romantic / formal for me that's why I thought smaller would be better, but it just wasn't! Too bad - it's a gorgeous collection overall!

It really popped on me! I guess everyone's skin tones are different. I think it looks really pretty on lots of people. I had a really hard time saying no to it... but there is just something about the pear that I had to say yes to! :)

I like yellow diamonds with yellow gold.

I think the pear looks so sleek on the.. model photos above. without white diamonds.

it would be so much cheaper then platinum and halo too.

See I think the plain gold bezet looks "modern" - classic but modern ... I'd be more afraid that one would look dated in 20 years! I adore the white diamond and platinum version but for the yellow I really want white diamonds around it to add even more sparkle! :)

I actually would vote for cushion as I am not a fan of pear either but I think in a pendant the pear would actually look better. In a ring I would vote soleste but pear is more unique and delicate on the neck. I prefer WG or platinum especially with a yellow diamond and at the most one row of white halo but I would prefer to go without as I think the halo takes away from the yellow diamond, look fwd to your new pix, I am a huge fan of yellow diamonds.
