The only explanation given was that she is still striving to find a balance - to me it implied that she had taken on more duties and was too tired to attend Ascot. I’m kind of amazed they didn’t notify ascot immediately to stop this story blowing up.

It's understandable that she wants to limit her time in certain environments due to her health history. Whether that's the reason she bowed out of Ascot, IDK.
