It seems to me that she and William had a reckoning over how they wish to move forward. Old rules are out the window - there is more PDA, the beard, the extra long hair, the ring is being exchanged for just bands in more casual moments etc.

It is probably a really positive way to role into the roles they will likely take on. Shame it had to evolve from such a traumatic experience though.

So nice to see that she re-wears things she already has instead of always buying new. It’s so relatable.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s great to see her re-wear pieces, but I don’t think there’s anything relatable about re-working a Catherine Walker coat - the cost of the design changes alone are probably a lot more than most people would spend on a coat.
I absolutely don’t expect her to wear LK Bennett or Marks and Spencer, and no issues with her wardrobe cost, or the high rotation, but I don’t think changing up a piece that has been worn once in its original form is relatable - and nor should she be aiming for relatable.

I suspect it isn't really "costing" much, other than perhaps paying for the time of the tailor (who is likely someone already on staff receiving a salary? I don't know how that works for the BRF). Likely they have all the bits and bobs already on hand to add embellishments and make changes.

If it’s been sent back to Catherine Walker (I think the removal of the fringe wasn’t, but the different buttons and the bow were) I would expect to be pretty pricey. If it was done in-house, it still isn’t relatable - few people have staff on hand able to do that. A list if the time isn’t. OST-effective to have a seamstress do it.

This is such a great iteration though. Like Victoriana military.
Thank you, all great looks.

Maybe not relatable but certainly more mindful than buying a whole new outfit each appearance. I think these kinds of choices (as well as relying on high street) are necessary if the BRF is going to survive.

Changing buttons and/or adding trim is not that expensive. It is a great idea for a person who has to make so many public appearances. She is trying to recycle the clothing so sticking to a basic silhouette and form is the easiest way to do it. Easy to change up a garment when you have staff to do it lol! I'll have to speak to my wardrobe assistant ASAP. :)
