well, i've exhausted all my options....and received a painful lecture from my dad about my obsessive spending when I should be saving.

Don't worry, next year you can get one! They are beautiful. I am hoping next year for me too.

To everyone getting one, I can't wait to see all the mod pics. I can live vicariously through all of you! More like, drool in envy lol.

Awwww! I think that is sweet that you have the kind of relationship with your dad that you could talk to him about an expensive leather jacket. I could never have done that with my dad.

Start saving - put aside a fund - and if it takes you one, two, four or five years, then buy it - if you still want it.

I would not buy one yet for my daughter - she is nineteen, though I have bought her a few Balenciaga bags. I'm lucky that she is not addicted to them like I am. :)

If she wanted a Bal leather jacket, I would make her save up and contribute to the cost for that.

You know, I've been REALLY wanting this jacket for a year and a half and last year when they came out I didnt have funds, but this year I decided to be reasonable, put some money aside, sold the bags that were just lying in my wardrobe and got the jacket I wanted!
At first my mom said I was crazy to buy such an expensive piece of clothing, but then she said she was proud of me that I actually succeeded to manage my finances to get it!

thanks for the support guys! Last night, I put on an outfit to go out, and walked outside and it was pretty chilly, and I said to my bf "you know what would go great with this outfit?....the Balenciaga leather jacket!"

TBH, there are a couple bags i'm thinking about selling. With that, I could probably afford this in 2 months or so. But by then, will I be able to find it? Or will I have to wait till next year?

My DH freaked out over me spending $160.00 yesterday and:lecture:me too. I said"OMG" I was going to buy a 2700. Leather Jacket this week but could not find my size and you are really going to gripe about 160. on lipstick-He is:mad:I guess I may just have to forget about this jacket until next year too-LOL!

A UK 8 is a 4 US. You should buy the jacket one size up. I had BalNY send me the 42, which is supposed to be a 10 but is in fact more like an 8, so they are sending me a 44 this coming week and I have sent back the 42. I am sooo glad this thread was started because when I originally bought the jacket there were only two sizes left and I was told they weren't getting anymore. I was going to keep the 42 even though I couldn't zip it up over my boobs. Had I read this thread one day earlier I would have succeeded in buying a 44 in black. Oh well, at least I can exchange my brown one for a bigger size. Oh, if any of you got the 44 in black and don't want it then you MUST let me know!!!!

are you sure? cause all the conversion charts I look up say that a UK 8 is a US 6? and that a 44 is a US 14 and UK 16? my head is spinning.

I'm so concerned about customs/duties fees...
I called Holt's and they are supposed to get back to me if the Balenciaga buyer can special order it for me.

I just don't know what to do - I'm so torn.
Was the brown a dark brown? Does it look how it does on the Bal site?
I would love the Navy if I had a choice, but these are now crazy and seem impossible to find especially here in Canada! ugg.
