Why I no longer buy yellow gold

White gold can turn yellow in time because gold is originally yellow. I would prefer 14 to 18k gold ring. Rose gold, on the other hand, can patina because of copper content. When you bump your ring into something or scratched, you lost some gold hence the wear and tear, unlike platinum that doesnt ever but platinum is so expensive. It easily scratched too and does patina.

Of course just go with what works best for you. For me, rose/pink gold is definitely the best, and I have a few pieces I love that are made of white gold but every year I have them re-dipped to pink gold. I like that option for non-designer jewelry as I am not limited to pink-only designs and I can always change them back. The rest of my gold jewelry is mostly either pink or yellow gold. I am fair with red (naturally brown) hair and aqua eyes.

I dont really mind if a metal color matches my skin or not as long as I find the design pretty and suits my taste. I just hate it when my white gold changes back to yellow and you have to redip it. I hate parting with my ring, especially my favorite one. Sometimes the reason I like white gold better than yellow gold is that I feel more comfortable wearing them, especially when im in public places, because it doesnt tempt thieves. I think white gold is better for everyday use as well. I have some white gold that are turning yellow and until now I havent had it replated. I like the feeling that im wearing an old ring that stood the test of time.

I like it all and I'm more interested in the style of the jewelry and the overall look. Don't have many pieces. I have three pairs of 14k earrings and some sterling studs that I wear regularly. My wedding/engagement ring is 14k.

Right now I'm seriously looking at a platinum/diamond decorative ring. I wouldn't mind having a small collection with a few pieces of each type. Throw in some turquoise and stones too. :)

Note I think I like sterling more than white gold. Bought white gold earrings and returned them, but it might depend on the style, etc.

Sterling silver is good too especially if its in good quality. i have a sterling silver bracelet that I turned into an anklet that doesnt seem to tarnish. However, any silver worn as necklace, bracelet or ring tarnishes faster on me thats why I prefer white gold. My anklet has been on my ankles for 8 years and looks the same.i just removed it once to clean but its been years already. Its a part of me. My husband was the one who placed it thats why I dont want to take it off

I love yellow gold. It is all I wear. Besides my sterling bracelets. My wedding set just got upgraded to platinum which is what I wanted. I am hard on my rings. I never take them off. So I needed something super strong. It is gorgeous but everything else is luscious yellow gold. There is just something about it that screams look at me. Lol.

I lean towards yellow gold as i tend to keep my jewelry on 24/7. All my white gold (especially e-ring 18k) needs to be re-plated with rhodium to keep it white. I gave up and switched to yellow gold as i grew tired of the yellow tinge in white gold and having to "service" it too often.

I have always loved YG but started getting drawn to white metals when I transformed into a blonde from a brunette. For a while, I was convinced that white metals looked best with my light hair. One day, I just woke up and felt a strong yearning for the warmth of my 18K YG and bought some pieces that I now wear daily. I have decided that I love YG even though RG and WG still look very pretty. There is just something about YG that fills my heart!

I love yellow gold! I'm from India so the only jewelry we really wear is custom creations in 22k-24k yellow gold from local gold shops in India. My mom never buys branded jewelry from places like Cartier or Tiffany's because she says it is "not gold enough for her." LOL!! I sort of feel the same way but I love Cartier's Juste Un Clou collection.

Also I have warmer tan skin with peach undertones so I think gold suits me really well compared to rose, white, or even sterling silver.
