Why do u spend thousands on a bag?!

Yeah why?
My wife can spend $2K US on a handbag, but she complains I spend $1K pair of speakers. :(

The more expensive speakers, the sound is better. $50 handbag look the same like $2K handbag to me.

I am sure there is something psychologically significant about women who have to spend on status items and cannot accept that there may be more style and value available at a fraction of the price.

But then someone not interested in sneakers may not know or care to tell the difference between a $50 or $2k pair :p

I have yet to purchase a bag that cost me thousands but I am going to purchase a BV in the future. While I definitely think many bags/brands are overpriced and quality/style can be found at any price, I just love certain designer bags. If I can afford and will get a lot of use and joy out of then I buy them! A BV bag to me would be worth it seeing as they are handmade and renowned for quality.

I cant bring myself to sped over 1K....its just not in me to spend that. Tho I have thought about it many many times. I back out. I am not that "into" bags as i usto be i guess you could call it. But i could not bring myself to do it.

It all depends on what you want to spend.

good luck!

Just curious...but do you really only have 1 per brand? :)

Ya my loyalty lies w no particular brand, only beauties they produce.. And it's my ultimate wish to have one of each from every brand ( made mission impossible by this forum as it has opened e window to so many other labels not found in my country)

Part of e reason for starting this is I'm wondering if there could be something wrong w me.. I still buy unknown labels but they have to be unique n resemble nothing I can find in here.. And yes it's more tiring than buying stuff from boutique.. :p

It's not something I can do all that often - maybe once or twice a year I'll cross the one grand mark; the rest of the time, I just stick to SLGs, Contemporary lines and such.

I buy what I like. I have no idea why or how I justify Premium lines, but I somehow do. I told The Boy this week that I spend in the hopes I might one day be able to give them to my daughter - I love the idea that she could one day pull out my vintage (by that point) Chanel, one of my Bals, or a Chloe - when someone asks, it's vintage Chanel, Bal, or Chloe which has a lovely ring to it. The Boy - ever the realist - pointed out that I may not have a daughter, but no matter: I still love my bags.

Mhmh. I always try to buy the best I can afford. So I buy one bag, but the best that I can get my hands on. Its a nasty habit. But then again I have purchased very little and have kept it all in pristine condition. I guess maybe it makes me care more about my stuff?

I don't think it's that simple.

money and spending money is all relative. what $10 means in your pocket may be more like what $10k means in someone else's.
