Who Would Pay $300,000 for a Handbag?

To answer the OP's question...it's obviously someone who has unlimited funds and want a showpiece. As for me, even if I had that much money to throw around on a bag, I wouldn't purchase it only because it seems impractical to carry.

Even if I had the money I wouldn't and as long as the person buying it didn't rob a bank in order to do so then it's their business.

Not many people enjoy being told how to spend their money, or should I say be 'judged' on how they spend their money.

Mỹ question would be moreso...who would ever carry it. I'd be scared of it getting stolen and me getting bopped upside my head...or worse for someone to get it. it's a bit harder to steal a lear jet, yacht...or even a car than a bag. so many ppl on tpf have shared stories about their bags getting stolen.

so if I had it, it would be prominently displayed in a case...just like it is in the pic in the article

That`s Exactly what I was thinking!

hùi

u must have missed the bopped in the head...or worse. ppl have gotten killed for less. no need to make myself a huge target.

damn that bag. my concern is my own safety

YES!^^^
I have a friend who was attacked in Las Vegas for her Prada handbag,
so I`m sure some crazy desperate person could without hesitation slit your throat for something that valuable.

I think at this (presumed) weath level you have security who will watch over you and your bag if you take it in public. Plus you are regularly going to many places, vacation and entertainment spots, parties and events that "riff raff", commoners & regular people don't even have access to. Who's going to snatch your bag when you are on your BFF's yacht or at a member's only enclave on a private island? So that also keeps the risk of an incident down. Most of us who are merely affluent still live the majority of our lives around "everybody" because we are part of that "everybody". The truly wealthy, however, have a myriad of places to live, work and play that aren't around us, are more exclusive, more safe and perfectly appropriate for carrying this bag.

So I'm sure that are tons of places for this person to wear the bag.

If I had the money and lifestyle, sure, why not? As others have mentioned, if you can afford this purchase, you most likely have the lifestyle (protection, staff, etc) to support and not be concerned about it being stolen.

And if it was, you would have the insurance and money to buy another one, right?
