Thank you Prof!! I always love your insightful input.

I do have another small item on its way -- a black small Urbane crossbody, which I got a great deal on Bonanza. I visited one at FP last weekend but balked at the price even though I really liked the leather and the design. I was lucky to find it for $100 less gently preowned.

So Coach is still making a few very nice quality items, but speaking to the newest things -- the Carlyle, the duffles, and the SV designs -- I am super underwhelmed!!

So far as your last statement...Yup!

LOL it's okay, the bag I revealed is already returned and credited back to my card! I'm gonna be good for a while and really try to make good on my promise to try things on and fall madly in love before buying.

On more, here is the color while sitting slouchily on a blue sofa.

That's a good looking bag and she looks GREAT on you! The leather looks lovely in your photo - I am sad and shocked to hear your description though (inside and out).

I'm very worried for Coach - they won't get away with these new-fangled price points but have customers declare that the leather feels cheap and/or faux like PU.

I'll have to see for myself irl when they arrive in store. I will save lots of $ if they fall short of my expectations.

I was very disappointed in the gunmetal Rhyder 33 I bought. The leather truly felt like pvc or really cheap leather, the lining was a cheap synthetic fabric, the creed had no number and was cheap. It looked like a knockoff more than a $650 bag and there is no way that anyone would confuse it with a premier bag at a premier price point.

I am hoping that there are some Vevers styles that are not this tacky and cheap looking.

For those that are still interested in the Rhyders I am not trying to talk anyone out of them. I am simply cautioning that these bags should not be bought sight unseen.

I rarely if ever return bags and that Rhyder 33 went back immediately and got shipped back to Coach today. (It arrived yesterday and I opened the package yesterday after work)

I guess I am really surprised although I must say I did mentally question the leather when I saw the pics of the Rhyder 24 but I can tell you I have use rights to a friends Dakota CB that is every bit a new line for Coach. The leather quality and craftsmanship is bar none fabulous so I cannot discount the new items this quickly. I will try and post pics soon of the Dakota and one other new bag. I am sorry for your disappointment as I know the feeling.

I don't think there will be any issues with the leather on the other SV bags. Honestly, I could tell from the preview pics at the beginning of the fall 2014 thread that the leather on those particular Rhyders were just 'ok' but this is the version of leather I'm hoping the large tooled leather has. This is a close up of the mini cross body version and I think the leather looks fabulous on this one. Those with the Rhyders now will probably be able to see the difference. I'd love to hear your feedback.
This is exactly what I'm talking about. There us no way this can be mistaken for PVC. Let's hope the quality runs throughout the price range somewhat.

All the new bags look good in the pictures. That is why I ordered the Rhyder 33 to begin with. :smile1:

I hope there are quality bags in the new line as well. I am willing to try again with another style, but from now on, I am going to wait to see the bag in person before I buy because I am not into having to do returns.

Boy, I'm really curious to see for myself. Maybe the nubuck Rhyder 33? But if these are 650+ I just don't know...it would have to be a divine bag...top quality.

That's a good idea. I find it hard to buy sight unseen - it normally nods up a return. Hopefully you'll have better luck.
