Kipling is my ultimate favorite brand of bag! I love their Defea and just recently I bought it in Black color for only $60 in Amazon. I have other colors of it, mostly in purple shades. I usually just buy the nylon bags because they're very much great for travel. The materials are sturdy and well made.

I find their retail price still expensive, even in Europe. So I usually wait for 50% sales in store or in Amazon US. What I love about their bags is that it is very lightweight and has a lot of pockets. I don't like bags with little to no pockets so I try to avoid buying those kind of bags. And those little monkeys that comes with the bag never fails to brighten up my mood. :smile:

Well said! I adore those bags too. And yes, those little monkeys really light up my day. I own some LV, Longchamp, Gerard Darel etc, but I will never stop wearing Kipling. They are a part of my funny sunny side!

Kipling seems to have raised their prices quite a bit recently for new styles, at least in the US. Most regular handbag styles, even the larger ones, were under the 100 dollar mark, but in the last year it seems like the newly-released styles are starting closer to $130 or more for a larger handbag. I won't buy them at that price, but will just watch the website for sales especially on the classic styles like Defea and Fairfax/Felix, or buy them used on Ebay. As others have said, they're made well enough to outlast me anyway. :cool:

Drastic price increases like that are a turn-off. LeSportsac tried the same thing a year or two ago when they "improved" classic styles like the Deluxe Everyday Bag by making a new version called the Everyday Bag, changing some trim, eliminating the extra zippered large section, and raising the prices by at least 40 dollars. I'll keep buying the original version for as long as they keep making it, IMO there's nowhere near enough "improvement" in the newer variation to justify such a big increase.

Yes on all these points. I love Kipling and Lesportsac, but I either wait for sales, or buy from Amazon :)

They were too expensive for me but my mom bought me a neon green mini backpack as a gift and I still have it! Now that I'm much older, I have a slew of large leather designer bags but I find the Kiplings are sooo practical. I have stiff shoulders so they're a joy to carry and they fit a lot, while still remaining light for some reason. Plus you can't go wrong with the water resistant nylon, all the extra pockets and the key clasp! The thing about designer bags is that they're actually so impractical--you cant take them out in the rain, they get heavy and I find I'm always scrambling for my keys or a pen!

Love my Kipling bags!
I have two ---one in off white and one in tan. I didn't want to spend $$$$ on a light color Prada nylon so I got the Kiplings instead.
Being vegan I appreciate their all man made materials :love:
I leave the apes attached. I was born in a Monkey year so their whimsy doesn't bother me as much :p
