Who else has never spent more 1000 on a bag?

I'm frankly amazed at how active the Hermes subforum is......those bags cost more than a lot of people can afford to spend on a car. I have to wonder if all the people who buy them are wealthy. If you're not wealthy you'd have to be crazy to spend this kind of money on a bag......$8-12K for used? That just from me taking a quick look.

I don't have any bags more than 1k. I think is not worth for it,although I love them .in my opinion we can order High quality Fake bags, it seems costs less from me[/QUOT

I absolutely would never ever buy a fake.

I’ll revive this thread.
I have never personally spent more than $1,000 on one bag, though I have spent that much at one time on multiple pieces in the same transaction... and agree that probably a numerical majority of members (people that have ever signed up, not necessarily current posters) haven’t.
I have several that retail/retailed for at least 1K, but either bought them secondhand, inherited or were gifted them. :coolio:
I suspect a lot of us are like me, in that sense. (I probably have more bags than the average TPFer, though I’m eating most everyone’s dust in the SLG-type category from what I see)
I’m perfectly happy reading threads about ‘regular’ bags; I ooo and ahh over attractive bags, not big price tags. I’m so happy there’s a place for bag lovers to talk BAGS, and not just the high-end houses.

I’m guilty of spending over 1k but I don’t feel “guilty” about it. I earned it. I remember when I joined this forum in 2007 telling myself I’d never spend that much. I’ve almost always spent my work bonus on a new bag. As bonuses & income increased my limit increased.

I don’t judge people with inexpensive bags and I don’t expect judgment either. People spend their hard earned $ however they see fit. Some splurge on electronics, home goods, art, jewelry, man toys, their children’s toys/clothes etc. Here at the purse forum many if not most of us splurge on you guessed it - purses! Each persons definition of “splurge” will be different.

I have never spent over 1k on a bag but I certainly wouldn't rule it out in the future.

I spend a lot of time in between Miami and West Palm Beach and I see a ton of women (and men) wearing chanel, LV, gucci, and YSL. Half of them look like fakes from even a couple feet away to my discriminating eyes haha. But I am certain a lot of them are authentic as theres a lot of people with money down here who like to spend it and its not frowned upon to be "flashy" the way it is in other parts of the US.

The most I have spent is 600 on a bag and I really try to keep it under 500. If its a brand that goes on sale like Kate Spade I try to hold out for sales unless its an item that looks like it will sell out before the sales.

Most expensive bag is a preloved Gucci bag that I still need to get authenticated but seems pretty legit.

I spend over 1k now, although I still regularly buy bags in the $400-$600 range (mainly Coach and Massaccesi). However, my most expensive bag to date was a gift from my fiance. It was almost $1,800 before taxes and I don’t think, back in 2013 when he bought it, I would have spent that on a bag. Now, I probably would as I am trying to decide between 3 LV crossbody bags and they are in the $1600-$2000 range.

No I'm in the US. Savers is similar to Goodwill.
good for you
I never find anything at those stores.....guess I don't have the patience to sort thru all the stuff
Well I did find a pair of AG jeans for one dollar at a small thrift store.....but I eventually regretted the purchase. They needed repair to I put another ten dollars into that, then decided they were too baggy.

I never spend more than 250 Euro for a bag so far, but I am planing to.
Most of my bags are GG&L (german brand) or Liebeskind and are quite colorful, I don´t own a single brown bag for example. :P
But I have been in love with a discontinued LV bag for years now and just decided to hunt it down. If I find one in prestine condition it might be my first bag for over 1k.
