Who else has never spent more 1000 on a bag?

I have bags that retail for over $1,000 but I didn't pay full retail for them. Probably most I've spent is $600. I've gotten several beautiful bags at the Tods outlet store and a few very nice preloved bags, some bags purchased on sale at BNM stores.

I don't think there is anything wrong with splurging on a bag. I spend most of my time on youtube watching Chanel and louis vuitton unboxings, and I think Balenciaga city bags are freaking amazing.

Price tags that high just give me anxiety. I'd rather leave buying to someone else and just admire.

I completely understand price tag anxiety! I usually have to ask DF if it’s ok before spending more than a couple hundred. Not that I need his permission, I have my own money and will do what I want regardless, I just need someone else to say “you’re not nuts, it’s ok, treat yourself and enjoy” [emoji23]

Here’s to hoping we’re brave enough to get that dream bag someday, no matter the price tag! [emoji16]

I just can't bring myself to spend that kind of money on a bag. There isn't a bag out there that will hold its value or that I would love that much to carry for years and years. There was a time (before PF) when I'd buy a bag and carry it every day for a couple of years but those days are over and I have a bunch of bags that I seldom carry - some of which were over $1,000 full retail.
To each her own depending on how much you can afford and how much you're comfortable spending. I guess I could afford to spend over $1,000 on a bag but don't want to.

I’ve never spent $1K+ on a bag .. the most I’ve spent is $120 on a preloved LV wallet. Any highend bag(s) I want, I always tend to ask for it as a birthday present, anniversary present or Christmas !

Only the two Proenza Schoulers. My love is Massacchessi. His leathers are top quality, he is a third generation leather artisan, he communicates directly with you, you can pick you own leather, lining, hardware, strap length, etc. He picks his own leathers from the tannery and his costs around $300-$400. I have 9 of them!! Plus there is a buy, sell and trade group so we can swap if we get one that does not work for us. I am sure this is more than you wanted to know.
Lol I love that your sharing!

Lol what was the first?
The first was the LV Damier Totally MM size. I bought it 2 years ago. Then I bought a couple other bags that were under $1000 but still over $500; all were either preowned or brand new. Last Christmas I bought myself a Chanel small flap...still the most I ever spent on a bag and I don't intend to spend anything near or around that amount. I think it's too much money, personally; however, I was lusting over that bag for a year and I knew no other bag would be a good substitute. I also sold a bunch of other bags and accessories to "cushion" the cost, lol.

Since the Chanel I haven't been tempted to spend over $1K on a handbag. The latest "bag" I got was in March this year and it was a WOC-type bag from Furla in the outlets. I spent a little over $100 on it. Lately I've been more into other independent brands that are very high quality but cost-effective. Have you looked at the "2018 Good Quality Fair Price but Little Known Recommendation Thread" (https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/2018-good-quality-fair-price-but-little-known-recommendation-thread.981642/ )? It's a fantastic thread that has a lot of very beautiful bags that are of premier quality but at a fraction of the cost.

Maybe one day when it doesn't give me heart palpitations lol.

Heavens I've never spent that much on a bag! Now I have spent too much on bags in general. And I have way too many bags. But I've never spent so much that if my bag were stolen I'd have to file a homeowner's insurance claim. Most of my bags come from ebay.
