Questions for the doubters:

Why would the OP go to all this trouble posting, if his posts are a hoax?
Maybe you should search the ebay subforum for the Barney's scammer thread. That's only one of hundreds of similar stories but one that pops in to my head now.

Reader's digest version of that thread and others: Posters have come to TPF "testing their schemes" to see if it's something they can pull off.

No one has accused the OP of that (yet) as there isn't enough evidence either to prove his honesty or determine whether it is a scam.

One common thread among questionable (and not questionable) posters is that there are often missing details that can help prove and advise on cases.

It’s out of bounds to insist the OP (or anyone else for that matter) post a tracking number on a public forum. Or provide it to a random stranger on the internet. Much personal information can be gleaned from it. :annoyed:
I can't pull up any labels for Australian shipments as they're too old but my recollection of the tracking is that it shows the city/state/zip code (or Australian equivalent) and when there's a signature, it shows who signed. (If there's a signature, THAT should be redacted.) There's no specific identifying address associated with tracking.

How are you going to redact the name/signature of the person who signed if you have the tracking number itself and why on earth should anyone reveal their city/state/zip here? And what stops someone from calling the shipper pretending to be the sender or recipient of said tracking number and getting further details? *smh*

You're straight WRONG for insisting OP post the tracking number. Who are you? Kanye West?

This is very true in Asia and @QuelleFromage is also right with regards to Europe.

yes, i agree.

which makes me wonder why the brand seems to have two different policies. Asia where you have to be spending lots of money for the bag and thus...having lots of resel
My, this thread is all about picking out every variable in everyone's posts, isn't it?

I was referring primarily to Oz where the OP is located.
My experiences in Asia have been varied. That said, I have a great relationship with one of the Singapore stores, not based on spend. Your mileage may vary.

i'm sorry. i really like almost all your posts and what you write. don't want to offend you or anyone. but also don't want someone to get hurt thinking they didn't try hard enough, weren't charming or anything...

again, sorry. i wasn't trying to pick on anyone or anything. sorry to have come off harsh or picking on you or anyone.

Resellers especially of Hermes, exist because many, including OP, have no relationship with a store to be offered bags. I think generally the demand is so much higher in Asia that the games played by the stores and the prices set by resellers can be corresponding higher. I am quite surprised at the difference because I started my Hermes relationship in Europe, have shopped for over a decade at FSH and for about 6 years in Asia when I was living there. I see evidence of both points of view.

Hi Everyone, :flowers:

It took me a lot of courage to post here as I'm mostly a lurker on the H forums, I am still trying to learn more about Hermes and my bag hunt and trying to satiate my H-obsession.

However, I want to offer everyone a cup of tea to quell all the tension and the berserk nerves in this thread!:drinks:

I also wanted to spread some kindness and remind everyone of our reality: we are all IP addresses for the most part, and it's HEALTHY and REASONABLE to be skeptics given the nature of the internet, nature of Hermes obsession and the resulting scams out of it.

It is however not healthy to throw accusatory tones and negative language on either direction, regardless of our skepticism. What we can all do, is to ASK questions, keep asking questions until we satisfy our doubts and skepticism.

Unfortunately, we will always deal with people who have ulterior motives -- i can imagine all re-seller houses have social media staff that are just monitoring and posting here, I can also imagine all fashion houses do the same, and that they employ distasteful tactics to smear their competitors. (remember this, if it were true- http://observer.com/2010/08/how-snooki-got-her-gucci-the-dirt-on-purses/)

My point is, it's OKAY to be skeptical -- skepticism helps us all. Perhaps let's watch our tone, language, and be more cordial to one another. Put down the pitchforks aimed at ALL DIRECTIONS. I am sure that the TPF community continues to strive for a knowledge-sharing forum for the fashion obsessed like us, and we want to keep it that way. The sooner we get to the bottom of this, the sooner we can all LEARN something from this experience. Let's ask questions in a positive tone, instead of targeting each poster.

Let's remember that some people put more/less effort than others in their details or pay more/less mind than others on the seemingly obvious. Making rash conclusions for someone else is never a great idea. Some people choose to play the H game and build years of spend and patience to get a bag, some DO NOT want to do that. It's a matter of preference... we can't jump because someone's WAYS are not ALIGNED with how we would do things. The point is we all want to get to a destination, the roads we take and the resources we have all differ, thus our experiences are different. Some want a direct flight, some by road, by land, some get a tour operator to drive them, and some go on their own. But the destination is the same -- an hermes product!! Just because you never got a shipment 2 days later, does not mean it has not happened to someone else. You know?!

Good luck, to all of us. The outcome of this thread will be a lot of learning.

We're never going to get to the bottom of this unless OP does the following things:

1) Post all the photos he took on his smartphone on the day he decided to order the bag. This is so we know what his exact thoughts were...at that time. Bathroom photos are not necessary, but cooking photos are required because what goes in the body, comes out in the mind. YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT OP.
2) Post exactly where you were standing when you opened the Hermes box. We'd like to see the way the shadows reflect your body shape. This, combined with your your foodstuffs (days prior) will help pin down key things only us true authenticators are aware.
3) Please be prepared to reskin your fingers...for fingerprint activity. We don't need it now, but just be prepared.
4) Finally, stand by for further details as we analyze the pre-purchase photos. Further photos will be required eventually.

EDITED TO ADD 5) Do you have any pets? Very important here.

Oooo JazzyMac You made my day! Hahaha
I like your investigative skills, very thorough.

Oh yes. The pets. Key information.
The furrier the better.
Honestly, the more photos of pets from anyone participating can AND WILL determine the authenticity of this entire thread. We can keep it to OP's pets..."proven" he does have more than he states he does--ahem--I did, but others can chime in with photos of theirs.

**Only in cute poses. Please and thank you**
