Omg this looks amazing!!!!!!! I don’t know why you’re shy!!!!! It looks soooooooooo good!! You’re right it looks so amazing on your tiny tiny wrist and your wrist is TINY!!!!!

You should get the gold Daytona. It would be gorgeous on you and make such a statement.

Oh, and you might not be able to tell in my photo but I wear the bracelet loose so it actually drops down my wrist and has movement. It’s up to you how tight you like it but I like mine to wear like a chunky bracelet.

By the way, I am sure you know this, but Rolex updated their Daytona in 2016 (waitlist for the stainless one).

I assume you are buying a new watch, so make sure it’s a new issue. The gold Daytona is not a lot different than the old version; the stainless is (mine is the old version). But just make sure you are getting new stock as I recall there were some other minor tweaks.

Good luck to you.

Thankyou so so so much for all this information!!!!! Super helpful. Have you sent your watch in for maintenance by any chance? Do you know how much that usually costs? You’ve totally convinced on the gold Daytona!!!! Now I gotta decide which colour face with the full yellow gold!!!!

I want to get 1 gold watch, as I’ve always wanted.
Which one should I get? I want to get something to last like 60 years hahhaa if I can live that long.

1. Rolex Day Date President 36mm. With diamond bezel. RRP around $43700 Australian
Pros - classic Rolex that holds value
2 Rolex datejust 31mm with diamond bezel and rubies. RRP around $39,000 Australia.
Pros - super cute and nice rubies detail. Not necessarily a classic piece.
3. yellow gold Audemars Piguet royal oak, 33mm with diamond. RRP around $49600 Australia.
Pros - it’s a gold AP!!!!!! It’s soooo beautiful to stare at.
Cons - it’s quartz movement ie battery. Not automatic. Only 37mm + have automatic movement and APs are well know for their amazing movement so would it be like getting a Ferrari with a Toyota engine? Hmmmm

Thankyou so much for everyone’s help!

I would suggest that you go for the 37mm rg AP with diamond bezel! No question about it!! I definitely agree that a quartz movement is not the way to go (it analogy of a Ferrari with a Toyota engine hold very true)!! So either go for the AP in 37mm automatic or go for the date just 36mm since for the day/dates (presidents)they hold the best value in the bigger sizes (40/41)!! So imo 1. AP (automatic) 2. Datejust 36mm 3. President 36mmGood luck [emoji173]️

Hi, Yes, I am rough with my stuff, so this watch has been busted twice! I dropped it once on a tile floor in a hotel room, and it stopped running. The cost was about $1K. My top pusher also came off recently (just a few months ago), so I sent it in for repair and took the time to do a full refurb. The pusher was about $500.00 and the full maintainence was a little over $1K. The full maintenance was amazing. They open up the watch fully, tear it all apart, clean it, put it back together and resynch it. They also gave me a new sapphire crystal and cleaned up the stainless. My watch came back looking new and honestly, I am really rough on my watches (my husband says I torture my poor little Daytona).

On the gold Daytona, I love a clean white face. Gold with a gold dial is too hard to read, gold with a black dial is a bit too manly for me, but gold with a white dial is so beautiful and clean to me. The other combos like MOP, green, panda... they are to busy in my opinion.

One other thought... I only get my Rolex serviced directly from Rolex. I actually send the watch in directly to NYC myself. I do not go through an authorized dealer and here is why. First, I read a lot of stories where the retailer is an authorized Rolex dealer. Yes, this means they can do repairs, but it does not mean they only use genuine Rolex parts. I did not think much of it until one time I sent in my Rolex DateJust to be repaired. A marker on my dial fell off...told you... I am rough on my watches! How many people have dial markers fall off!

Anyway, I brought it back to my retail store where I purchased the watch and asked that they send it in to Rolex as I only wanted Rolex to service it, not an "authorized dealer". They said no problem. I received the watch back with the new dial but it seemed off to me. So, I decided to call Rolex NYC myself and ask about the dial. They told me.. "ma'am, we did not service your watch". I was shocked. I called the retail store and told them they lied when they told me they sent it in to Rolex. They told me they are an authorized dealer which I knew, but I had specifically asked for them to send it to Rolex. Good thing for me, I had them write in my service papers "Send directly to Rolex NYC, do not service in house". They apologized and said they would send it to Rolex and have Rolex install a new dial. I told them no, because now my watch has a history of being serviced by you (all services are logged), and I want my watch to have a history of service directly from Rolex. I was so mad... I asked for a new watch because they couldn't even get the dial right, so I felt they had tampered with the watch. Surprisingly, they said yes and gave me a brand new watch.

Moral of the story.. send it yourself to Rolex. Every time your watch is serviced, it is logged by Rolex so you want to do it right (in case you sell it). It only costs like $25.00 or so... call Rolex directly and they will send you a kit to mail your watch. I have done this with all my Rolexes. It's a great service!

Wowwwwww again Thankyou so much so sharing so much Insight it really is amazing because I would never have known this otherwise. So appreciative!!!! Hopefully I can post when I make my final decision and get the watch!!!! Thankyou!

I just realized you are in Australia. I am sure you have a Rolex in your city and don’t need to send to NYC.

By the way, I’ve been to Australia and New Zealand several times. It is so beautiful... God’s country are the words I would use to describe it’s beauty.

I also have small wrists and I have the yg daydate like the first picture, it can be heavy at times but for me it works fine and I like the look of it, I wear Cartier bracelets on the other wrist and some rings too, before I got the daydate I wore a daytona but was way too heavy, so you might wanna try it on and imagine how would it feel to wear it everyday. So I would say watch number 1.

I vote for the first piece purely because I have the exact same one. the baguette diamond on the 6 and 9 marker won me over
I see that you're considering a Daytona, I have a two tone Daytona YG/SS one and I love it too. But the daytona definitely looks 'sportier' so it really depends on what look you're going for. have fun and good luck deciding! :flowers:
