I was at my boutique today, and hoped I'd be bringing home my first CSGM (Echec au Roi in blanc/argile clair/rose poudre was being held for me). But, unfortunately, it wasn't love at first sight. While I love the pattern, I now realize 'rose poudre' is not a good color for me! I think it was pierina who suggested going with ones first reaction, to avoid misfits. I've found it to be such good advice, so I left it behind.

But, I had fun trying lots of spring items, and new and old favorites in the jewelry department. I'd been wanting to try the Farandole necklace, and had the luxury of trying the 80cm, the 120cm, and the 160cm. It's such a beautiful necklace in person! Luxuriously heavy, and of course beautifully crafted. So, happily the 120cm came home with me!

So perhaps a bit over-accessorized today, I'm wearing my Eperon d'Or silk twill, with my Muse belt, and my new Farandole! Any other Downton Abbey fans? I love seeing the younger ladies in the third season wearing their flapper ensembles. The Farandole in this length reminds me of their wonderfully long necklaces.

Thanks for letting me share my bit of silver heaven! :smile1:

Scrumptious colors, etoile, so very chic. Love, love, love your new necklace and your Eperon d'Or in these pale colors. I resisted the Farandole for a long time - by not ever trying it on - but once I did the 160 came home at once. Isn't it fun to play with the toggle? There are so many ways to wear it.

Another DA fan here and last night it seemed that they all had long necklaces on!

Hello my silkie friends! Thank you all so much for wishing my pathetic sick self well. I am almost there and can't wait to get dressed and wear a scarf. I have been in bed for a week!

VnSoie: I adore your calming blues in Temari. Lanit has this in a fuchsia 90 and I adore the design. It makes me think of kittens!
froufrou: I love the elegant pic of La Femme and am happy to announce I just bought a brand new 90 in this exact cw. Can't wait to wear her.
dooneybaby: this is one of my favorite of the season and am waiting for a shawl. This scarf on you is a dream. Perfection!
luxbagLVr: your Circuit is beautiful on you and the knot is so fun and flowery. Love it.
Tanker: honey, thank you for the pics of your beauties. XO
Chestnut: I loved every word of your Turnadot analysis. My favorite details are the carp and the 8 jug. You brought new meaning to these images that I adore anyway. TY
my peko: your yellow, black and white Quadridge is phenomenal on you. Love it! Bumble bee at its finest.
Seton: what a beautiful design and two tied together---just dripping with icy silver heaven. I could wear two 90s every day if I could pull them off like you, here! Fab!!
Lanit: you in white with any scarf is just sensation! Dang lady...
Tango: honey!!!! how are you??
Scarf Addict: big waves to you darling!!
Jahna: just snap a dang picture...does it really matter what week it is?

So glad to hear that you're feeling better at last, dear sparkle!! Was it the flu? My DH, who hasn't been sick for years, was in bed for a week with it and has taken another week just to get to 75% recovery. I hope that you're in scarf-wearing shape a.s.a.p. :flowers:

Etoile, everything looks so lovely :)

jp_536 - Thanks for posting your Les Cannes! I haven't seen this colorway and the green braided border is an unusual and very pretty accent.

Here's a shot of the purple Camails cashmere GM. It was stunning, just not on me. With your lovely dark hair it would be gorgeous. :smile1:

That is a gorgeous GM! So sorry it didn't work out for you... I know you got the really pretty lavender one though.. :)

I wonder if it'd be too redundant for me to have a silk Camails and a GM Camails in the same cw.. Thinking... ;).

Jahna, I missed you and am so glad everyone is on the mend. Just in time to enjoy spring in good health hopefully.
Sparkle, glad to hear you are feeling better. I was in bed from Friday through Wednesday and still don't feel 100%.
Pierina, I love that horn pendant on your DD. it looks so simple and classic. Give DH my best wishes and stay healthy yourself.

Here's my story for this week's theme. My best friend and I met the day I was moving into the dorm, my freshman year of college. My parents were helping me move stuff from car to room, and as I was making one trip from into the hall, there was this girl! This girl, so bouncy and confident, it seemed to me, with long, silky brown hair and smiling eyes. She said, "Hi! My name's (your new best friend)." That was August of 1982. She's my son's godmother and I'm her daughter's godmother, and I don't know how I'd have made it this far without her.

For our 30th "anniversary" last summer, I gave her an Aux Pays des Epices that I had hunted down. She's not one for labels or expensive goods, but I wanted to treat her and enable her to enjoy something luxurious. She's a wonderful cook, and some of our fun times have been cooking together in her kitchen.

She is an artist. I mentioned to her a few weeks ago that I'd read a review about a show at MOMA by Azin Valy, out of which had come a line of scarves, featuring aerial views of some of the world's great cities. A couple of weeks ago, in the midst of all the boloney going on my world, the Fedex man met me in the driveway early one morning with a delivery. I emailed her quickly "!!!!" after I saw the return address. Then, when I got to the office, I had to go straight into a meeting. Another email: 'Suspense: Rome or Paris....' We had discussed both, my favoring the colors of both city's scarves, as well as both cities. She responded, "I chose the city you've loved longer." That told me the answer: Rome. Herewith, a non-H lovely silk chiffon aerial view of Rome (with the Colosseum front and center, I just noticed)! This is a poor photograph; the scarf is a lovely fuschia, with greys. What a thoughtful gift, from a very thoughtful friend.

seton - love your two silks and story. You look amazing and fresh in the silvery blues.

I am celebrating Year of the Snake and V-Day this week! Hope to bring out the romantic themed ones.

Today is for our lovely Etoile who asked about pendants and silks. Seton has shown hers off in her post in such an elegant way. Isthme pendant and lucky red CMSC with quince blossoms from my garden.

Lanit! Oh my gosh. This red CMSC takes. my. breath. away.
Spectacular! Thank you for posting.:faint:

Oh Etoile, you look gorgeous. You wear grey/whites and blues so well.
jp 536,I to just bought a GM and silk 90 in the same cw because I love the design so much and you know, if Pierina says yes, it's yes with me too!!
Seton, here is my rendition of your fabulous look yesterday, and with one of my favorite designs. Astrologie!! The sun is the literary eye of God and to think of her gaze and golden arms around me gives me strength!

sparkle - you look amazing and what a gorgeous combination on you! I hope you are feeling better because you certainly are the portrait of glowing health dear friend!

vn - what a great story, and a heartwarming scarf to celebrate your friendship!

Oooh, the Lift pendant is so exciting in color, etoile, and the horn pattern on the back of yours is exquisite. Must check out these new colors. My black pendant got Lifted (sorry, couldn't resist :amuse:) by DD, with my permission as I'd gotten other horn necklaces. She swears that she uses it all the time. Here's an action picture, though not with a 90 scarf this time. As I recall, the trick is in adjusting the lengths of the scarf and the pendant so the're not on top of each other. ;)
Super gorgeous photo of DD Pierina - I see she is already on Getty Images the superstock photo agency! What a beauty she is! Who cares about her pendant when her mega watt smile is to.die.for. She is destined to be an H model!

I'm off to a dentist appointment, so I will come back later to comment on all of the silk loveliness I have been seeing. I try not to play favorites with my scarves, so I have to say that ALL of them are my favorite. Here is a new favorite of mine: PHOTO FINISH in the green colorway. I bought this at my Hermes store, but it can also be found on H.com US site. (I've added some pics of a green enamel bangle which is a newly purchased treasure along with a pair of Isthme horn/lacquer earrings in green which had to come home with me as well. ;) The last pic is in honor of FAT TUESDAY! (The way I've been eating lately has become "Fat Tuesday" every day.) This scarf, Creole Jazz, came to live with me a few months ago when my dear aunt's friend was pairing down her closet for a move. She knew how much I love Hermes scarves, so this one, along with three others (Concerto, Kachinas, and Fluer et Fauna) are part of my Hermes family. :smile1: Happy Eating Day to everyone!!!!

it's hard to pick a fave carre but I will go w/ La Comtesse de Segur. It's from 1982 and has not been reissued except as a gavroche in 1996. It's by Philippe Dumas and it's the perfect scarf for an illustrator working for the House of Hermes since it's scenes from the children stories by Sophie, the Comtesse.

I used to do watercolours and I was initially attracted to the watercolour drawings on the scarf.

Beautiful silks, seton! I love how you have paired them together with your pendant. There is so much detail in your LCdS! Even the stems of the roses show the thorns. Magnificent! It really does look like a watercolor painting!
