Fun? Heck, no. That was work, yo. Dont know how u do it, pierina. :worthy:
Youre right about colors being less natural. The last reissue of Sichuan in 2010 was pretty nice but u still can see the difference if u compare the original black colorway in 1995 to the 2010 black cw.

I'll post both below.

Thanks for posting the Sichuans, oh exhausted seton. :sweatdrop: :woohoo: I am still voting for the more natural c/w. 2010 looks like the landscape needs fertilizer, or has lethal yellowing...

Well, it's a miracle. I'm on theme! Here's my new-to-me L'Art du Temari GM that arrived this morning. This is my third Temari, first GM. I've got the purple I posted the other night and a black/white/grey 90 as well. This is bleu ciel/blanc/etoupe, but has a lot of grey in it, which I love.

VnSoie, you got your hair cut, no? It looks terrific! And how fun and easy for the warmer weather. Of course the shawl is wonderful as well. No doubt it will be an incredibly useful colorway.:faint:

Thank you pierina! Wow, a purple Camails GM sounds so beautiful!!! I'm sure it would've looked amazing on you. Purple is such a universal color, don't you think?
Here's a pic of les Cannes in the blue cw that I've posted before. I may have deleted the pic of the mod pic with my black cw. The black was the 1st. I didn't care for the design. But my SA insisted I try it on. And wow! Sold!! :)

Edit: sorry, horrible bathroom lighting pic :(

jp_536 - Thanks for posting your Les Cannes! I haven't seen this colorway and the green braided border is an unusual and very pretty accent.

Here's a shot of the purple Camails cashmere GM. It was stunning, just not on me. With your lovely dark hair it would be gorgeous. :smile1:

Jumping in with some Asian themed scarves, old photos as the light here isn't great today.

Turandot [again , sorry but I love this one so much!]

Kimonos et Inros

Ex Libris en Kimonos

La Femme aux Semelles de Vent GM

No wonder you love this Turandot, frou frou, it is a marvel. And so very flattering on you. La Femme is very striking too, well I guess they are all amazing! Great choices.

A quick follow-up, lanit. :smile1: I prefer to wear my horn pendants with a 140cm, but until I find something :doggie: , here's my 90cm Jungle Love Dip Dye in CW08, Cobalt/Aubergine/Vert, with my new Lift Pendant in CW96, Vert Intense. I find the Dip Dye colors to be consistently difficult to photograph! (I need a tutoring lesson, arabesques!) After numerous attempts, these photos are still too washed out, but hopefully you get the idea.

Would love to see how others wear their horn pendants with a 90cm scarf. Calling lanit, pierina, bienchen (we miss you), textilegirl, arabesques, Maedi, and... ;)

Oooh, the Lift pendant is so exciting in color, etoile, and the horn pattern on the back of yours is exquisite. Must check out these new colors. My black pendant got Lifted (sorry, couldn't resist :amuse:) by DD, with my permission as I'd gotten other horn necklaces. She swears that she uses it all the time. Here's an action picture, though not with a 90 scarf this time. As I recall, the trick is in adjusting the lengths of the scarf and the pendant so the're not on top of each other. ;)

TT, I am happy to be twins with you on this 70. I own two cws and they are the ONLY 70s I own. I felt a retro vibe and adore them. You look sensational--beautiful skin my dear. I look like a wind-burned coyote right now and am laughing to think of the hypothetical contrast shot of me right now in my 70, and YOU! lol

Ok these snaps are for you, Sparklie, my UNDER THE WEATHER friend. Bunched up under the covers keeping warm and snug dreaming of silks. I also have two Flots!
Love Love Love this pattern. You say 70cm is too small, for you I tied it in my hair to show you that maybe that is an option??
Les Flots Du Cheval 70cm CW 04 Scarf Prune/Jaune/Violet

Gorgeous scarves, TT, full of life and excitement - just like you. :woohoo:

Happy Lunar New Year my silk friends! Wish everyone a silky smooth new year!

My contribution to this week is my (again) Turandot scarf! Favorite formal Asian scarf!
IMG_4474c.jpg

I simply adore this scarf as it has many Asian symbols.
The peach flowers: Peach flower is the traditional must-have flower for the Lunar New Year in my hometown. Every single household has it in their house during the first 15 days on the new year. It represents good luck, beauty, and prosperity.
IMG_4674-1.jpg

And the flowers in real life:
peachflowers-1.jpg

The 8-shaped jar (a popular object in South Eastern fairy tales, often seen on heavenly places) with a Chinese character (that literally means double-happiness, I believe, often seen at weddings as a symbol of marriage).
IMG_4476.jpg

Beautiful flowers with the two butterflies wandering around. A pair of butterflies often means a happy romantic relationship. Many Asian stories mention that couples who are in love, when they die they will turn into butterflies so that they can travel together for good.
IMG_4477.jpg

Lotus: a symbol of purity and Buddhism.
IMG_4478.jpg

The carp (fish) and the turtle: Long story short, in many Southeast Asian culture, carp fishes symbolize the courage and enduring strong will that eventually will become fruitful and pay off, i.e. people who dare to try will prevail (like the prince in the Turandot opera). In some traditional Asian fairy tales, an ordinary carp fish was believed to be able to pass the very strong and challenging waves to reach the heaven's gate, and subsequently transformed into a dragon.
Turtle: an animal that is believed to live thousands of years, hence symbolizes longevity. Same with peaches (people who eat peaches from heaven's gardens will gain immortality).
IMG_4675-1.jpg

Dragon: symbolizes the king/queen and his direct family. Pomegranates symbolize fertility.
IMG_4677.jpg

Phoenix (at the upper left hand corner of the scarf) represents people born with noble blood.

All in all, my own interpretation of this scarf is that just like the Turandot story, people who dare to overcome challenges will be able to win their love and live happily ever after with their beloved.

Thank you, Chestnutty, not only for the chance to see your beautiful Truandot again, but for the enlightening explanations.

... I'm wearing my Eperon d'Or silk twill, with my Muse belt, and my new Farandole! Any other Downton Abbey fans? I love seeing the younger ladies in the third season wearing their flapper ensembles. The Farandole in this length reminds me of their wonderfully long necklaces.

Thanks for letting me share my bit of silver heaven! :smile1:

Great outfit! I've never seen Eperon d'Or in this cw--love it! And yes, I am a huge DA fan. You look very elegant...as always.

Sorry to hear the Echec du Roi GM didn't work out for you. That's about the only pattern this season that intrigues me, and I haven't seen a cw yet that's doing anything for me, which is a good thing for a change.

it's hard to pick a fave carre but I will go w/ La Comtesse de Segur. It's from 1982 and has not been reissued except as a gavroche in 1996. It's by Philippe Dumas and it's the perfect scarf for an illustrator working for the House of Hermes since it's scenes from the children stories by Sophie, the Comtesse.

I used to do watercolours and I was initially attracted to the watercolour drawings on the scarf.

A complete wow, on so many levels, seton. So much detail but the design still feels so light, the pale ethereal colors with each colorway limited but still unique and complete, the sheer number of these scarves that you have! I am bowled over. :faint: Well done!!
