Tango - this week has really been marvelous. I wonder if we could ask the mods to perhaps take our theme week as an Ode to Annie thread in the clubhouse? It would be great to have our tribute in that section of the forum? I love all the photos and details of her silks, and perhaps the greater tpf community could contribute even more of the vintage designs as well?

And to answer your question about what draws me to her designs? I was entranced by her Recontre silk (which I woefully still do not have) and the Grand Fonds because I am a Piscean. But then, seeing her magical use of patterns and complex compositions and intricate details always engages me to see something new each time I see or tie her silks. It took a very long time for me to finally land the GF that I modeled after seeing this special edition on dear Robee. I consolded myself with the pochette version which did not quite satisfy the craving for the 90 detail. I have yet to find the GM version of any of her designs, but hope to one day! What do the scarfies think, ELK, AfdC, LCdA, or any other suggestions please?

Holsby - so great to see your post - elegant as always!:hugs:

arabesques - STOP THE PRESSES! Your AF ( not the other AF) collection is stunning - and supremely beautiful with your bags! Ms. Baby is truly the perfect companion to the Marwari! And can we please swap scarf drawers because I am eyeing the Kimonos et Imros and the Jardins as my new grails!

Waves lanit! Thank you! :smooch:

Here goes Aux Pais des Épices.
The second picture shows monkey and signature.

Lanit, I would happily exchange scarf drawers with you--it would be exquisite to go through your treasures. Maybe we can send each other care packages back and forth? A few scarves to wear each month--then rotate. Oh, but when you send some, know that I no longer need that red Jeu des Omnibus. I . . . uhmm . . . found one. :graucho:

And I second heartily your idea for a Clubhouse Ode to Annie Faivre thread! I would be going through it quite often!

Libres Comme l'Air

I think it is a monkey climbing up from the water down to the left! What do you think??
Also posting a picture of Annie Faivre's signature on this scarf.

Oh, I think that would make a killer "Ode!" If there are odes to shawls released just this year (I'm looking at you, Ex Libris en Kimonos), then one dedicated to one of the most beloved and prolific Hermes scarf artists would be very fitting.

Wonderful idea, Lanit!!

An "Ode to Annie Faivre" thread?? Okay Scarfies, time to step it up a notch! If you have any archive pictures of you wearing an Annie scarf, now would be a great time to post it. Even better if you can find the monkey, but just to have the biggest collection of photographs of all her designs and colorways, would be fantastic!!!

I have been keeping track of who has exhibited what this week. In a few cases I know of a person who has a particular scarf who has been MIA on tPF for awhile. I put their name in parenthesis, in hopes they'll reappear and show us their scarves! Please point out any mistakes I've made...
