Ladies, can I ask for your thoughts please? I’ve narrowed my search down to two models now, both 31mm and both two tone (YG & SS). This is a watch my husband is buying for me so I have to get this right!

The fluted bezel is available to me now and the scattered diamond bezel has an approximate 3-4 month wait. I have no problem waiting for the right model.

I had always envisaged a MOP dial and the scattered diamond bezel I originally loved but being offered this alternative with the silver dial I’m now wondering am I better going for a more classic look? I don’t want to risk looking over the top and my jewellery is a mix of platinum wedding rings, eternity etc and gold.

Opinions would be appreciated 😊

I love the fluted bezel, it’s timeless and classic. And not that it matters, but resale on fluted bezel is higher.

I prefer the one with the fluted bezel. The bezel is shiny and catches the light. I also prefer the silver dial and find it easier to read than the mother of pearl. The scattered diamonds on a gold bezel is pretty subtle. I think it photographs better than it really looks in person. But, that's me. You shouldn't settle if it's not what you really want.

That’s interesting what you’ve said about the scattered diamond bezel. I struggle to read a watch at the best of times so will bear this in mind!

I think the fluted bezel is beautiful 😍 I would also worry the smooth scattered diamond dial would show little scratches more.

My watch which is the exact spec you have been offered.

I personally prefer the fluted bezel. The one with the scattered diamonds on bezel looks too busy to me, but it’s all personal preference. I have a 36 stainless and rose gold with the fluted bezel, mother of pearl face with diamond markers and I love it. It’s very classic and timeless but again it’s all, what you love. Go with your gut.

The fluted bezel model offered is with a silver dial whereas the scattered diamond bezel model had the MOP dial. In an ideal world I guess I would have liked a MOP dial and fluted bezel. I tend to agree the diamond bezel is likely too busy but will the silver dial be sufficient? 🤦‍♀️

In actuality you don't have to settle if you want MOP and fluted. It's not that unusual a combo, and dial type is really important to the look. Wait to get what you want, even if it means finding a different Rolex dealer. These things cost a lot of dough, so best to be thrilled with your purchase!

Can’t you get on list for MOP dial with the fluted bezel like I have?

Liz131, would you be able to try other configurations that has the scattered diamonds bezel to have a feel of what its like? I have a scattered diamonds bezel but in white gold/steel with an aubergine dial. I original wanted a flute bezel but my SA called and said they have the aubergine but in scattered diamonds bezel. I was going to say no but hubby said it didn't hurt to go try it out. It's one of my favourites today :). I also have the rose gold/steel with MOP and if I have to choose between the two? I would pick the scattered diamonds bezel. For me, its casual during the day and sparkly and dressy at night.
