Great vintage Submariner by the way.

In my opinion I would go for the 116200 (which is the smooth bezel and oyster combination) in rhodium roman. The other option as suggested would be to go for the midsize version, however, if you would like to maintain the size, how about go for the 115200. This is the slightly smaller version (34mm v 36mm) Rolex date and you can get this in oyster and smooth bezel - the only catch is you have a much smaller choice when it comes to dial selection.

It depends if you want your everyday watch to be a little more sporty and causal or one bracelet/bezel style over the other. You can't go wrong either way. I prefer the the jubilee, fluted and I think I prefer romans on a white dial.

Icm torn because I love the flutted bezel but do not want another jubilee bracelet ha!

I voted #1! I have the same (midsize, oyster band) except with stick markers instead of roman numerals. Love the crisp, white dial.

Oh oh do you mind sharing a picture of your watch? Would love to see.

I like this one best as well

Thanks for your input, appreciate it.

White because you don't have one yet!!

True, I think I'm leaning towards the white face.

I have #4 and I bought it for everyday wear. It is a mid-size, jubilee and fluted rhodium Roman. Personally, I prefer jubilee band because scratches don't show up as much. I love #4 but you can't go wrong with any of them.

Thanks do you think the rhodium looks god on my hand? Picture number 4?

Thanks F, would you know if the 34mm comes in the Roman with white or rhodium face? So far I have only seen it in the 31mm. I think the 34mm would look nicer too. Thanks for suggesting.

bag'hem all

Yes the 115200 does comes in white, however, the dial is not rhodium per se and is more silver for this model. I have attached some picture for you to have a look at, I think I may prefer the smoothness of the dial on the smaller 31mm. It is good though to look through all the options.

One thing to consider would be if you would ever consider a silver baton dial or are you looking exclusively roman?

I think #4 looks amazing on your wrist. But obviously I'm partial because that is the one I have. I must say though, when I bought it, I didn't realize that 3 years later I would need reading glasses! So while Rhodium Roman is magnificent, the Romans on white are easier to read. Just something to consider....

I agree with Hokaplan. I purchased a 116200 Datejust with a silver concentric arabic dial as I loved the look of it and it was different. It looked great when the light hit it HOWEVER, my gosh when the sun goes on it you can barely read it, becomes very 'white' if you know what I mean. This was happening more frequently so I had to dial replaced at the Rolex to a silver baton - much better now!

Thanks for being the 1st to reply. We have the same thinking. The white face would definitely make the Roman numerals stand out which is one of the reasons why I'm attracted to it.

Do you think the domed bezel is too plain or boring in any way? Or do you find it uncluttered and elegant in it's simplicity?

welcome! i really like the white face. i think the domed bezel is pretty and simple. i have a friend who has the SS with the oyster bracelet and domed bezel and to me it just looks so effortlessly chic!

are you leaning one way more than the others now that you've gotten some input?

Thanks for the pictures F. The silver does look pretty. I think I'm more partial to the Roman embossed. It is what initially drew me... But I love that you are giving me more options to choose from. The more the merrier.

Lol :roflmfao: Thank you for pointing that out... my husband is undergoing the same predicament like you (needing reading glasses just recently) and I could just imagine how hard it has become just trying to tell time, since he has been complaining about this and that... and he has told me that someday I will experience such...

Ooooh so it's not just the overall look of the watch we have to consider ey? Thank you so much for being open and candid about these. Your inputs have been priceless.

My thoughts exactly! "effortlessly chic!" The White Roman was my initial choice. Love the white against the Roman embossed, I find it simple yet elegant. But then I saw a friend wear the Rhodium Roman Embossed with Jubilee bracelet. So I started looking for one. I like how the Rhodium looks different, but what's confusing is, I think the white one is still more classic and yes "effortlessly chic!":love:

Here it is!
One for perspective and another close-up. Just for size reference, my wrist is 5 inches around. It's a 31mm midsize.

Oooh it looks so pretty on you. Thanks for posting them for me. Now am even more confused. I love the midsize on you. We have the same wrist size =5" how odd is that? :graucho::happydance: The domed bezel looks nice too on your White face.

1 or 3.. I'm leaning towards 3 as the white face makes it stand out more. All are gorgeous though!

More votes for the white face, looks like she's leading... Thanks kiwigirljacks.

If we check the poll... Looks like No.1 is leading, closely followed by No. 3, is it safe to say that the White Face outnumbers the Rhodium? or is it still too early to tell?

Here is what I think for now...
I am loving the Roman Embossed
Leaning towards the White face (unless someone can otherwise convince me)
The Domed Bezel is growing one me, though the Flutted Bezel looks nice too!
As for the bracelet, I actually like the S/S more than the Jubilee... so it's also a toss up between No. 1 and No. 3.
