I'd prefer the plain stainless. Although I've never thought about two-toned being for older women. I was talking to a jeweler not long ago and he said he can't sell two-toned watches right now. Doesn't mean they won't come back into favor and no-offense to those who are are wearing them now but it seems they aren't as popular as they were a few years ago.

i like the two tone look. it ties in white gold/plat and yellow gold jewelry if you like mixing and matching.

imo, if this is a "forever" piece, the 2 tone would be the better investment in the long run.

^^ agree, two-tone is a forever piece. You can't go wrong....it'll grow with you and in no time you would be lusting over an all gold....yes, the aunty/grandma looking one! Just like what I am going through....so my strategy now is heck it, get the aunty/grandma looking one cause I will like it in time to come!

I like both and was in your predicament recently. My choice?

Day-Date....I love its simplicity. I have the WG Daytona and would much rather have a Day-Date. The Daytona is a little busy for me. Also I am not very sporty, so I prefer the Day-Date, since it is considered to be more of a dress watch than a sports watch, unlike the Daytona.

I love them both, I like the rose gold daytona with rose gold dial its the same as the 1 Victoria Beckham wears, I have my name on a list for the SS daytona but the waiting list is about 5 years so in the meantime I purchased a 36mm SS datejust with the new pink flower dial.

I have both a vintage Datejust and Daytona and I like the datejust for dressier occasions and the daytona for more casual. My daytona has a mop face and i still think it looks more casual. So depends on how you will wear it.
