Which influencers do you really trust recommendations from?

I've found another youtuber I enjoy - Hola Fiona, unfortunately she's a Mainlander Chinese living in Germany, and her target audience is generally other Mandarin speakers, so her videos are ALL in Mandarin.

But if anyone here understands Mandarin well, she's amazing and super relatable - speaking as a late 20s/early 30s gal who's somewhat of a professional.

She does bags, clothes, shoes and jewellery reviews. Doesn't seem that sponsored by major brands, she's honest about which items are long-lasting and which aren't worth your money (especially with jewellery brands) and has a lot of vlogs of her daily life interspersed in between the hauls so it never feels "too much". She just feels normal compared to most other influences in the designer sphere.

I am typically introduced to Youtubers/influencers when they review an item I'm interested in and researching. What keeps me following them is similar interests/tastes, relevant content, and great personality/humor. I'm generally put off by unboxing and haul videos. I don't mind information regarding luxury sales, especially if it can help me check an item off my wish list at discount. Overall, I like content that helps me make better decisions with my purchases.

On youtube, I'm subscribed to KarenBritChick, Cassie Thorpe, and Erica's Girly World. The latter two just because they LOVE luxury stuff and are clearly having a lot of fun with their videos and they're both very funny. Karen is much more relatable and I love her street style vlogs. For bloggers/IG, the only one I really follow for recommendations is Grace Atwood/The Stripe. We're in the same age bracket and she does great beauty and skincare recommendations. I have also been influenced by her to buy more than one set of fancy pajamas.

100% KBC for her NY fashion vlogs and Cassie Thorpe is so witty, young and fun. I prefer discussion on luxury pro/cons, tips/tricks and those who own products for some time before bragging "how wonderful" and "this is the best product in the world". Many of the influencers buy and unbox the same designers, bags and shoes over and over again. I started unfollowing the majority of them in 2019.

Tayo Adeyiga Watch her 5 Reasons You should not buy a Cartier Love Bracelet.
Fumi Desalu-Vold - Makeup, fashion, beauty and life!
Super Dacob - Can't say enough about him. He's a die-hard Chanel fan. He uplifts and critiques the hell out of Chanel.
Brittany PocketsandBows TV - A plus size fashion vlogger who likes high end designers.
hello catwalk city - very informative and she keeps spreadsheet of LV & Chanel price increases
Amaya Luxe - Owns a large Hermes collection of scarves and purses. Buys them off-boutique and gives valuable advice on sizing, history and quality.

These two are the larger lux influencers. Many might have issue with them... They are full of knowledge and created visually appealing videos.

Sali Hughes for any makeup suggestions. She is a proper journalist with a weekly column in the Guardian. She has a knack for writing and her articles are always well thought out and interesting. I’ve been following her suggestions long before her instagram page existed.

Mel Soldera. Easily. No.1. A good mix of eclectic, and new bags, and vintage. I even love her vlogs. Maybe it’s the similar age bracket, and Canadian thing but easily my fave.

Sophie Shohet.

minks4all just seems like the happiest, kindest of any of these YouTube Luxe people and I can’t help but smile when she does.

I love Erica’s Girly World as well - I like that she seems to be no bee ess and likes what she likes, but still likes the trendy bags as well.

I like hello catwalk city. Her videos are like the AMSR of bag reviews and I end up in a trance.

I must be missing something because I find Cassie Thorpe way too loud and not witty or charming at all. I feel like she is constantly screaming at the camera; and trying to pack way too much into 4.5 minute long video.

I love Fumi desalu-vold, and Amaya luxe!

I follow no one because I generally have no patience to sit and listen to someone go on about anything for a protracted length of time. Basically I have a short attention span. I also don't do contrived posey, see lady from the barn pictures earlier in the thread. All my influencing comes from tpf and not from anyone in particular.

I am also very decisive so I know quickly if something is for me or not. Generally only people that can sway me are my mum and husband.

I really enjoy Lydia's content, especially on instagram! Her youtube videos are a bit too long for my liking, but her IG content is really great.
I also enjoy the fellow brits, inthefrow and amelia liana.
I watch Lydia's content, but I don't trust her or Amelia. There's freebies, sponsored content or their own brand and collaboration push in every video.
IntheFrow and Fleurdeforce are content I'll watch every now and again and trust a little.
From the Brits I'd only trust the Anna Edit and SophieShohet. From what I've seen there aren't ads in every one of those videos.
