My 90cm looks pretty true to this in real life and daylight.

The 140cm, in store looked very much like this -

attachment.php

The first felt like a deep teal duck (i.e. grey undertones)

While the second felt like a fresher spring forest green - more of a yellow undertone (albeit a tad darker, but definitely closer to yellow/green, not blue-grey/green)

That is a huge variation and I did indeed think they were two different colours! So, the only way to know for certain would be to try on whilst wearing the typical palette you'd like to wear it with - in its yellow undertone incarnation, it feels very colour specific and not the easiest to match.

^^ For the most part I would agree - but the magic for me with H is that the colouring is multi-dimensional and chameleon in nature. This seems never more true than with the dip dye process - regular twills are more wysiwyg (what you see . . .) - while the dd appear more adaptive to lighting conditions and reflecting surrounding hues. Yes, it makes it more difficult to pin down shades, but IMHO clearly adds to its intrigue and beauty. (Gosh that was a good glass of claret! :p)

I agree, Roo Cambonne...I have been describing it as very reminiscent of a changeant.

TT and Roo Cambonne, thanks so much for the photos. In my mind the 140cm is more green and the 90cm more blue. I am going to take your suggestion and go with specific clothes on. Thanks so much for the photos and your opinion. SDSurfChick, you are my personal color consultant, so I definitely respect your opinion!

hi Roo, just popped in to visit my SA and she was holding 2(140) BdG for me .. such a dear .. the blue and the lite pink .. so been thinking .. Oy .. want more than just those two, money tree isn't sprouting fast enough^ .. been on the brides rebelles band wagon too^ .. LOL ..

.. the last of the global increase just took place @ TW/DFS airport .. which is where the wallet took a hit w/ silks and belts .. totally sold out on everything else since no one left any stock for the next person .. buying frenzy .. lol^^

I don't have the BdeG, but I love the Dip Dye scarves. I love that they're already soft with that "broken in" feeling. I am currently seeking the Blue Astrologie Dip Dye.

I finally caved in and got a red Astrologie that I was eyeing for a month... DH said he loved the colour (he loves vermilion), and got it for me because he knows how indecisive I am, he said I'd regret it if I didn't buy it. Proved he is right, it was the last one in the store, 2 ladies after me asked for the same and the SA had to apologise.

Now my hands are itching for a 140cm...

I fell hard for the Brides de Gala in Aubergine and Lie de Vin. I love the colorway and
having been enabled by Robee, want to tie two together for some fabulous styles.
My other dip dye is the brown with black.
