oval/round one definitely, thin bands make the ring more delicate and girly (which i like) anyways. Your DH is right =) have you seen the vera wang rings? they've got thin bands and they're gorgeous

They are both wonderful but I love the oval. The halo design looks very classy and I beleive the darker color is considered a better quality.
