Which Citrine Ring?

They're both pretty and I love citrine. The oval one is more my own personal style, though. I also think that the oval has more facets (from what I can tell from the picture) and I think that makes a stone really sparkle.

Definitely I love the oval. I prefer the color more, and I think the band on the oval makes the stone stand out more.

The rectangular one blends in more, and I don't like the band as much. ^_^

Hey Girls. I'm hoping I can get honest opinions from you all. I bought a citrine ring, the rectangular one about a week ago. My husband thought the citrines on the side (not around the halo) made it look "cheap". LOL! Anyways so he got me to wondering and I got a different one that is oval. My concern with the oval is a tad smaller and the band is awfully thin but the stone colorining is TDF. Here are pics. What looks better? I do have a smokey quartz that is flanked by diamonds that is square so I'm not sure if the rectangular one may be too similar to that one. What do you girls think? Oh I had to take two of the rectangular because you can only see part of the ring on the first one.

It seems to me that you have done something that I often find myself doing....buying something very similar to what I have, sometimes without realising it!!!

You are probably drawn to the rectangle one because it is what you are used to, and possibly the look you like better. But to answer your question, I think the rectangle would be like doubling up with your smokey quartz one.

I personally think both rings are beautiful in a similar way. If you already have a smokey quartz would you consider getting a totally different colour eg aquamarine?

If not then I have to vote for the rectangle. I think the oval looks more olden days, where as the rectangle looks more dramatic. I know your dh thinks it looks cheaper due to the detail in the setting, but overall, noone will consintrate on that. All eyes will be on the stone, and you can always get it altered if you had to.

If you dont mind the question, was it very expensive, like something you had to save for a long time, or more just `dont care that much` sort of money? Because that might come into it too?
