The one on the right looks lovely. Am I the only one who is bothered by the fact that the screws on these watches are tightened so randomly? Is it a symptom of OCD to wish that they were all symmetrical?
I LOVE this watch! The two tone in the ladies small size is my #1 on my wish list slated for next spring for my combined b-day anniversary gift. Of course I love it in all it's variations though and the all SS looks fantastic too. With out a question the more simple face of the quarts is my preference. I don't care for the extra number markers and glow in the dark hands on that automatic, plus I would want the newest model made in my budget. I would not mind one bit getting one w/out papers as long as I knew for sure and certain it was authentic as you do in this case. It sounds like the quartz is the one you love and the only thing that was holding you back was the lack of certificate. Enjoy that gorgeous Santos!
LOL Minpin about the randomness of the screws direction! I definitely noticed that about these watches but realize that it's better for it be random than my noticing any are off in symmetry lol. I also consider myself ocd in certain areas, like if a floor is spotless I'll bend down and pick up a piece of lint, a little string or what not. And then other times I'm just whatever I'll not do it and just do the floors all over again and let them go.
Hm, I would also prefer the right one. The face looks more appealing to me. But personally, I wouldn´t buy a watch without papers. Just imagine you give it to Cartier for a service and then it comes out that it is stolen or fake or whatever.
One option would be to ask your seller to call Cartier and ask them for checking the serial number. When it´s ok, then I would buy it.
Did you have a look at the Santos Demoiselle? I´m craving this one in midsize - it´s so classic and more feminine, but still sleek and elegant for everyday.
Both look nice but one on the right is better. Thy are not too big or masculine. Very nice find!
I made the mistake of buying a Santos quartz and came to find out that it cost $400 each time the battery needs changing if you send it to Cartier for the new battery (and I've never provided any authenticity papers for this service). I've found a local jeweler who'll change the battery for $80, which is the way I'll go next time. I can't believe I've spent $800 on battery changes on that watch. I won't buy another Cartier quartz though. I've since bought a Cartier automatic and love it.
Wow that's even better! A newer model plus the paperwork, sounds perfect! How lucky! Enjoy it!
Thank you benchwarmer!
Bit update on this. I call the dealer today and guess what, the one on the right has been sold!!! That was quick!
But the good news is that they literally got another one in this morning, exact the same model, but from 2011 (3 years newer than that one) and with box and papers! It's been sent to Cartier for servicing and refurbishment. So I pulled the trigger on it! Now I just sit and wait for them to call me to pick it up in 2-3 weeks time. If I don't like it for any reason, I can get a refund. Can't wait to get it! Thank you all for sharing your opinions!

Wow what a rip off. Are you sure that's not service + battery? I can't imagine it cost that much just to change battery. I will use a local jeweller for sure.
Thats great news! A newer watch with box n papers too. Do show us when u receive it![]()
Wow that´s great! A newer watch with boy and papers! Seems as if you were luckyPlease show us some pics when you have it!!! I´m sure it´s gorgeous and you will love it for many years!
$400 could have been new battery + servicing. I am interested in buying a Cartier watch too so i recently asked the boutique how much it costs to change batteries when i went to try out some watches. (Didnt want any unpleasant surprises after making the purchase) I was told that a new battery costs about $50 (depending on which country u are in) and around $400 for servicing. I guess if u just want to change a battery and not service the watch u will have to make it clear to the boutique from the start, before they do anything.
