I originally bought this from Corey as part of CeeJay’s estate. Corey confirmed it was pigskin. I agree, it didn’t feel like deerskin to me.I found this here in the depths of the oldies thread.

I don't think it's pigskin, either. Deer makes more sense and I remember CeeJay (or maybe it was @RealDealCollection?) calling it deerskin. I can't find that post, tho. Can't remember where I saw it.
It's beyond gorgeous and so special either way.
