I'll revive this thread. :smile: I'm on the tail end of my collection overhaul and had a busy selling year so far in 2016 as I cleared out more bags that just didn't work or weren't getting worn. I was still refining and upgrading. I have 6 more bags up for sale and hope they sell soon. After that, I think I'm completely done with selling for at least a couple of years.

The main reason is my personal style radically changed. I updated my closet with fewer, higher quality, more fashionable bags v. a ton of haphazardly purchased bags that were often simply cheap or tacky. 😖

These are just a few of the ones I've sold:

• COACH Spotlight Sequin bags in red and blue (Too over the top since I don't live in a 70's disco)
• COACH leather bags - pink, black, burgundy (The evil bag snob in me won't allow me to carry Coach)
• DOONEY & BOURKE black tassel pebbled leather tote (Boring. Zzzzzz....)
• KATE SPADE black London Leather Sawyer tote (Very nice but too small)
• KATE SPADE tan/black Rumor Bow Satchel and black Beaumont Bridge (I'm over 12 so no more bags with bows)
• VALENTINO Pink Lacca Dome Bag (again - no more bows)
• ISABELLE FIORA Tied Up Harlow in pink and turquoise (what was it with me and the &$!#@ bows?!)
• PRADA shoulder bags in cream leather and black nylon (Bought these when I was tiptoeing into designer bags. I should have kept tipping past these tiny dated, "vintage" bags)
• GUESS red patent faux croc satchel (Mr. Tacky McYucky)
• RALPH LAUREN, MICHAEL KORS, etc. - several small crossbody bags (Unlike micro bag wearing starlets, I don't have an entourage. So I need a bag that can actually hold a wallet)
• JESSICA SIMPSON large orange faux croc (Gawd awful tacky!)
• KATHY VAN ZEALAND silver faux leather satchel with studs, metal plates and clear plastic hanging doodads (My mother in law gave it to me. She wears Chanel. So, you can guess how she feels about me from this bag choice.😕)
• FENDI B bags in pink & black/white (Sex in the City wanted its bags back)
• GUCCI green 1970 bag - (Beautiful bag but it felt like I was carrying a big, green monster)
• CHANEL dark grey classic flap (Gorgeous but I just didn't love it enough so I bought a different Chanel)

As you can see I bought bags like I was blind and had multiple personalities. No defined personal style and - very often - a questionable taste level. Just all over the place. 😩😱 I'll blame it on youth and being raised by a mother who only owns one beat up vinyl bag!

I'm happy to say my new bags are a careful reflection of the style I've developed and actully having an active fashion brain cell. LOL!!! I still like a fun bag but, it will fit my style - tailored and feminine with a touch of edge. I tend to like the more tailored offerings from Prada, Gucci, Chanel & YSL.

I've gifted several older Coach bags in both signature style and leather, now that I'm trying to refine my taste. This year I sold an older metallic Burberry tote, Coach lizard embossed Kristin, a few vintage Coach bags from the 90's and an almost new Coach Edie in dark purple. And still trying to purge more! I joke to my kids that Saturday mornings are reserved for my side-hustle of trying to catch the right light for my bag photo sessions and writing ads.

This year I really wanted to downsize, and so I sold all the bags I didn't love AND use. Let's see if I can remember:

- OS Petticoat Mulberry Alexa (almost brand new) - too scared to use her and I prefer regular size
- Large Givenchy Pandora in Purple - lovely but too big for me
- Mulberry Roxanne in pink - lovely but I have another colour/leather combo I prefer
- Mulberry Alexa regular in oak leopard - bought preloved and the condition was worse than I expected
- Mulberry OS oak tillie - because I already have an OS oak alexa and the function is similar
- Stella Falabella 3-chain tote - didn't get on with it, so bought a 2-chain tote I much prefer
- Furla evening bag - nice but unused for years
- Miu miu bow in cherry red, small - I have another red bag I use more
- 2 small MK bags - nice but not being used, and I began to dislike MK logo
- Alexander Wang Rockie in petrol - amazing green colour but too heavy for me
- LV medium neverful in blue and white pattern - nice enough but not my style; I was using her as a beach bag which is silly
- Mulberry phoebe - didn't use much so gave this to a friend who loved her
- RM mini mac - didn't like the rose gold hw on this one

Still want to sell:
- PS1 in petticoat (used lots but now bored of it)
- Chloe Marcie large in red berry colour - amazing colour and leather but I prefer smaller bag with a long shoulder strap
- Balenciaga part-time in gris poive with rghw - can't get used to the shoulder stap being so short

I may have bought a couple of bags this year too... :)

It's been great editing my collection so now I really love (and carry!) all my bags. Still a work in progress though as I'd like to sell and buy a few more.

Hahaha wow I've sold more bags than I can remember. I am a newer member of the designer handbag lovers club and have been collecting for almost 4 years now. I didn't start bags until about 1 1/2 years ago. Let's see if I can remember this all:

1) Speedy 35 in Damier Ebene to fund a Neverfull GM in Damier Ebene
2) Balenciaga Classic Day in Vert Menthe because it just didn't fit my style and it really just ended up looking ragged and dirty
3) Kate Spade 34th Street Treesh in Snapdragon.
4) Tory Burch Chain Wallet in Jelly Blue
5) Tory Burch Thea Chain Crossbody Bag in Porcelain Pink
5) Tory Burch Thea Slouchy Tote in Dust Storm

I gave a Nat&Nin to one of my nieces and a Gérard Darel to her sister....
Didn't sell any of my bags, it's too complicated for me...:sad:

I decided to downsize again because my number of bags keeps going up and I want to downsize. I like to keep my collection at about 10 bags but cannot resist buying my dream bags so now I am hoping to sell these (with reason for sale):

- Brand new OS Alexa (Mulberry) in Oak: love the bag but prefer the regular size Alexa so if it sells i will look to buy a regular size in the future
- Sparkle Diamond Gold Lily (Mulberry): because I couldn't resist buying another gold one (metallic mushroom) when I say it at the airport this month, and it's silly to have 2 gold bags in the same model
- Brand new large Marcie (Chloe) in berry colour: fell in love and bought it but miss having a long strap so hoping to sell and one day buy a medium with long strap
- Balenciaga part-time in Gris Poivre: loved the colour and rose gold hardware, but find the strap too short (prefer a longer strap) so never use it

I think I see a pattern here... fall in love with a bag for design or colour, but then think better when I get home and dream of other bags I would prefer instead. How spoilt is that!

Impressive! I need to begin downsizing my collection (contemporary and designer). I've never sold a handbag (just donated or gifted). Can you provide some tips and/where you've sold your items?
