For work: roomy structured totes that are able to stand upright on their own. My favorite is the Hermes Birkin 35.

For play: smaller to medium sized (low maintenance) cross-body bags. My favorites are the LV Pochette Métis, Chanel Reissue 226 in black calfskin, Chanel mini CF in caviar leather and the Gucci mini Marmont.

I don’t feel like I can properly answer this because I’m kind of drawn to everything. I have found that I don’t like shoulder bags that have a strap drop that is too short to look good or fit with anything but a short sleeved top. I don’t like huge handheld bags and I while I think they are cute, I don’t like mini bags unless they are snazzy enough to be carried on a date or girl’s night. They just are not practical for my lifestyle. I also prefer handheld black bags to be more structured than slouchy. I also don’t like bags with too much going on. I had to get rid of my RM Cupid. I have also never been a fan of the Celine luggage.

Tote bags mostly as they are so practical, I have never seen the need for a crossbody as there are always moments I may need to carry a little extra, a light leather tote is my go-to. I also like generally structured bags for that touch of dressiness/formality but they tend to be on the weightier side, unfortunately. I've had to sell/give away many of the latter over the years as they were simply impossible to carry and feel comfortable with.

From bag models I'm always drawn to Proenza Schouler PS1, Givenchy Pandora, Balenciaga motorcycle style bags, Loewe Puzzle. I could buy them in every size. And sometimes have. :D
For styles of bag, I'm a crossbody girl and like them to have a top handle or two.

I love crossbody bags the most with a top handle and I especially love the look of messenger bags. I don't like totes that much because since it's bigger I tend to overfill it. Then it gets heavy on one side of my shoulder and hurts my back. I love bags with multiple compartments and gussets. I think they look cool.

All my bags are top handle and some have shoulder/crossbody strap options.
If it's exclusively crossbody, that's a no from me! For some reason it's just not comfortable.

Crossbodies. The majority of my bags can be worn crossbody, even if they have other options (shoulder or handheld). I love being hands-free! I'm usually juggling my dog/her leash and other items, so hands-free works best for my lifestyle. By now, I'm so accustomed to it, it's hard for me to go back to other styles...

Shoulder/crossbody bags. Top handles just get in my way. In fact, I think I only have one bag with a top handle option in my current collection. Life in my family requires full use of both hands at all times.
