I like bags that can be worn crossbody, long strap or doubled short as a shoulder bag like Chanel CF medium, Chanel Boy, Givenchy GV3, LV Vavin PM etc. I also like my Versace Barocco shoulder bag although it can only be worn as a shoulder bag but is similar style to chanel CF otherwise. WOCs fall into this as well.
The other style I usually gravitate toward are structured top handle satchels like my Versace La Medusa when I need to carry a bit more.

Having said that I have bags in all styles.

I like to wear my bags crossbody, so I tend to buy bags with a strap. However, I'm going to try out clutches soon so I'll have to wait and see if I also like those.

I like something with a top handle AND a shoulder or crossbody strap. If there’s no top handle, I’ll add a chain to use. I notice when I’m getting out of the car I seem to need a short strap to grab.

Large hobo with a wide bottom. There aren't many available - a big hobo is always on my watch list. A hobo is very comfortable to carry and it sits securely on the shoulder. It's always been my favorite.
