My bag is ALWAYS in the passenger's seat next to me when I am driving alone :D

When there is someone in the passenger's seat, I have my bag next to me, so I don't have to struggle with reaching back for something I need.

If I'm driving alone then the bag is either in the passenger seat or on the floor on the passenger side. If someone's sitting next to me (depending on who it is) I might have them hold it for me, or put it at their feet.

When i'm driving by myself I put it in the passenger seat next to me. If i'm with my bf or family members I make him put it on their laps/hold it for me. :)

If anything else I will put it on the floor behind the passenger seat. (It's clean there.)

Because I have 6 kids, I drive a 12 passenger van. I keep a small laundry basket between the driver and passenger front seats. This is where my purse goes, as well as small packages that I don't want rolling around the cavernous vehicle.

today, i was driving to the market when i nearly got sideswiped by a tourist (so i assume, it was someone in a rental car) who got the brilliant idea to suddenly attempt a change into the little piggy's lane without signaling, or checking for clearance, apparently! there was no collision, but to my horror, as a result of hard braking, baby B did a somersault off the passenger seat and tumbled onto the floor!! :faint:

luckily, she was unharmed, but piggy nearly had a heart attack!!! it really got me pondering, where's the safest place to place my bag while driving? i'd love to get some tips from others!

^same. If you are afraid of future tumblings, then you could put the seatbelt on it, hook it through the handle or something. I once saw an ad for a purse hook that attaches to car's head rest or seatbelt. I think it was on ebay or something.

In the passenger seat, or in the boot (trunk) if it's special. My mother, to my horror, keeps her handbag by her feet when she drives. I worry that it'll shift and get stuck under the pedals. :\

If someone's in the seat next to me I put it in the backseat. If my husband's in the seat next to me he'll sometimes offer to hold it cause he knows how I am with my bags!

On the passenger seat. I make it lie flat so there is less chance of it tumbling to the floor in case of a quick stop (and if you saw the Clutchbag Car's floor, you'd know why!) Mr. Clutchbag's car floor is pristine, so I have no trouble putting my bag down there while I'm riding with him.

If I have a passenger, I make her hold it just as long as there is no coffee or soda involved! If so, the bag goes on the back seat. Yeah, I've got this all figured out.
