Where to put lock and key on Birkin??

I am constantly changing the position of my lock and key on my 40cm birkin. I currently have it like it is in the photo below but I noticed that Nicole Richie keeps her lock on the actual closure.
Where do you all keep your lock and key on your birkin?

Interesting how you tied it up. Aren't you afraid of the strap banging into the lock and getting scratched? Do you fix the straps in the guides and lock on the turn key?

Carumba, that soliel makes my mouth water (thinking of sun and mangoes) and the red is no frown either. Who doesn't adore a gorgeous red purse!!
To topic, the lock stays in the pouch in the box. If I was traveling, I would def use the lock, remove it and put it on my person. On a particularly bad day, the neck might be the most appropriate place. :bulb:

I have an old kelly and the turnlock is bit loose.. And I just figured out why. Don't hang anything from a turnlock. Just sayin'
Gosh! This thread is a blast from the past. Just wanted to add as a few years have passed since my last post that you live and learn. Hanging the lock off the turnlock closure is definitely not a good idea as BBL stated above. It leaves a smiley mark on the leather and bangs around too much. I have also used Perlerare's method above but I ended up with permanent kinks in the clochette which are a pain to straighten out. I now just leave the lock in the little fabric bag, untill someone comes up with a better method.
