Where NOT to wear a LV handbag?

I have recently decided not to carry certain LV bags while traveling. No Neverfull for things to fall out of and no MONO to scream look at me I am carrying LV and I am tourist. For a small bag, I replaced my LV with a black Prada Nylon. Which I hope blends in and is unnoticeable. And for a larger tote (it's large for me) I just got an Azur 35. I can zip it shut and I am hoping people just think it's a Michael Kors bag. :P

I'm a huge baby-er when it comes to my bags lol I only carry mine on date nights w/ hubby, however, I have been using my Neo a lot as an everyday bag but I hold it close like its a baby  I work M-F and carry a lot so I just use a backpack and on weekends; with having to keep up with 3 boys, I carry the Neverfull pouch around my wrist :)

Is there a place where you would not take you beloved LV bag? It could be for whatever reason: practicality, security, noisy friends, family, etc.
For example, I would never take it to a nail or hair salon. I have seen many accidents with nail polish or hair dye. The vachetta would be a magnet for any nail polish.

Where would you not wear a LV bag?

I carry mine everywhere you mentioned except sometimes around "nosy" people; I would carry my Lady dior instead.:angel:

I don’t take high-end bags to concerts (I would take one to a symphony or a classical artist, etc...I mean like to see the Stones or something like that)

I also do some volunteering at different types of shelter (women’s shelter, homeless shelter, etc) and don’t take them there...I have no worries about security, I just would feel icky dangling a bag worth several car payments in front of a woman who just had to walk away from her life with nothing but what she had in her pockets so as not to tip off the abuser.

If I had a friend whom I knew to be very hard up financially invite me somewhere, especially to their home, I would carry something else that one night. I have plenty of bags, there’s no reason not to give another one a spin around the block. And so on.

I will also say I have traveled to places I wouldn’t take a high-end bag for security purposes, not so much to prevent having the bag itself stolen but to prevent myself and the people with me from being seen as lucrative targets in general. Other than that, to salons and the movies and such, I do take them.

I'm a stay at home mom so I try and use my bags as much as possible. I don't think there's very many times I've intentionally changed my bag based on designer. I will change a bag if there's a high risk of it being damaged or it just not being the best option (speedy and last minute Christmas shopping equals a sore arm). I do however leave my higher end bags home when we travel to Mexico. My husband isn't always able to come with us and we don't stay on resorts so just for my own piece of mind I stick with my old coach crossbody for the most part.

I try to take my bags everywhere, but I do admit that I will leave a bag at home for certain things. The nail salon is one of them, but more because it's just easier to take a card case or the 6-ring key holder and keep it minimal. Anywhere where I think my bag might end up on a floor, I avoid, so a concert would be one of those places. If I want a bag that can withstand more of the possible elements, I'll just take an epi bag or a DE bag.

For me, it depends on which bag and where I’m going. If I go to Disneyland or a ballpark, etc. I would take one of my canvas bags that can be easily wiped if necessary. I wouldn’t take a fabric, leather or patent leather bag there. Everywhere else I frequent I take my bags. I feel it is important to enjoy them.
