Where do you put the lock in your Speedy?

Mine is on my D ring, actually it's like that in both my speedy b & regular speedy.

The lock and keys of my speedy b are still inside in its box, placed inside the box for the speedy b. I do not use it.

LOL I don't think there's a right or wrong, to each their own.

I do the same thing with my locks. I hate the idea that they are extra weight and might be rubbing against the rest of the bag as I walk.

I used to own Speedy, I usually clip the lock at front of my bag instead of the tab on the side because I didn't want the weight of the lock pull the hole of the tab down and make the hole big. You can just treat your lock as key charm, clip on the front of your bag, it is actually pretty cute.

Keeping the lock and key in the box doesn't allow the metal to "breathe". It needs to be in an anti tarnish cloth if you would like to store it without risking those brown tarnish spots. Same with the actual bag. Some people keep the bag in the dust bag and in the box it came with, but the paper used in the box are probably NOT acid free which would ultimately ruin the bag.

On the tab (mine is DE and they don't seem to stretch like the vachetta). There was someone on here who put a luggage tag on the handle and the lock on the luggage tag - difficult to explain and I can't find the picture but it looked really good.

I have several Speedys and keep the locks right where LV intended them to be - on the side leaf. The lock is part of the allure of the Speedy, IMO.

My Speedy's lock and keys ride around in the inside pocket--if I need them in some circumstance, they're there, but otherwise I don't want to have to fool with them. (So far I've kept the cloche and lock in place on my SC, but that may not last much longer, at least for the cloche--I don't like having anything dangling from my bag that I have to worry about getting caught somewhere! I'm a killjoy, I know; no bag charms for me...)

I've had my speedy for about ten years now and I've always kept the lock on the zipper pull.
