I wanted to let everyone know that I contacted David Yurman in regards to whether or not pieces are made in China. Here is the response I got. It is VERY evasive.

Very invasive, indeed. Is that like saying they put the final product together in the US or what? Kind of like how cars are made in 500 different places but then can be "assembled" in the us or somethign like that.

Thanks for emailing them!!!

It sounds to me like they make the pieces in the U.S. and they are assembled in other countries. That way they can still say the jewelry is "made" in the U.S.? I don't know; very confusing! I am going to e-mail them back and ask exactly what does that mean.

Hmm sounds that way to me! thanks for putting out the info.

I bought two rings from I Buy Luxury thinking I was getting a great deal. It was definitely too good to be true. The rings were very tinny and light weight compared to real Yurman pieces. When I tried to return them, I told the customer service representative that I talked to that I knew the rings were not real. She got VERY defensive and started saying things like "I will report you on eBay". She was very unprofessional and immature. I ended up getting my money back, but it was a hassle that I could have done without.

Thanks for posting because I was looking at several pieces from this seller...I will definitely stay away!

HI,

I am not sure if you have run into this, but I was in a Yurman store and there was a little gray tag hanging from the piece that said made in China. I asked the sales person what it meant and she made up some lame excuse, that did not really answer my question. I have also seen those same tags with different countries on them like India and some where else.
I heard that Yurman shut down his US manufacturing as his quality control was terrible, that the items coming out of the different plants where different. I think he has moved is manufacturing overseas like everyone else. Why would he have on his website manufactured of imported pieces...hmm sounds like they are trying to hide something.

I know there has been some debate about the authenticity of various Yurman sellers on ebay. I have posted pics on the "Authenticate this" thread but haven't had any responses. Has anyone purchased from designerspotinc on ebay? What about greenwichavnue or delpiero7italy?
Thanks

Never buy from ibuyluxury (Sandra)! I purchased a cable classics bracelet from her on Ebay and the minute I held it in my hand, I knew it was fake. It did not have the weight that the same bracelet from a Yurman dealer. I have a friend that works at the Yurman jeweler in my area and she said it was definitely fake! I returned it but she charged a restocking fee and of course I had to pay shipping both ways. I don't see how she can do this unless she sells a few real items along with the fakes.
