My Mum was 83 as she bought golden shoes....no Heels or Sneakers...normal golden shoes! I told her..."Mum..in your age...you can't wear golden shoes!" So she weared them when I was not with my Mum.
Today I am telling me..I was such a Idiot 😊 If Mum loved the shoes and weared them with Joy and Proud ...WHY NOT!! 😊

I'm 26 and I have a lot of pink and red bags. Will I be too old to wear them once I'm 30? 40? 50?

Absolutely not, wear what you want whenever you want :smile1: You may find that your tastes change over time, but its got nothing to do with numbers. In fact as I get older I care less and less what others think - I feel much more confident than I did in my twenties frankly :D

You are never too old for a pink bag. Why would you be?

When you hit 40, must you cut your hair, wear dull colours and ankle length skirts, only wear brown or black bags and horn rimmed spectacles?

In my humble opinion, older women do a few things better than younger women, and one of those things is red. Red is powerful, sexy, confident, and bold. It can also be very sophisticated and, again in my humble opinion, pink doesn't have the same capacity. Pink is flirty, feminine, and pretty. I love both colors but, as I get older, find that I am choosing red more frequently. Pink is a flirty bashful smile, red is a self-assured hello. These days, I'm more a self-assured hello, and I like it :).

I totally agree. I don't like pink as much as I used to. Used to buy so much pink stuff since young girl to teenage years, then slowing down now that I'm in mid 30's [emoji16]. But red is suitable for any age. This color will always b a classic that's - powerful-sexy-confident-bold as serenityneow said!

Never, although every age group should follow general color shade guidelines, e.g., a rose pink or pale pink (depending on one's coloring) suits forty-somethings but definitely not bubblegum pink.

I see where you and some of the other posters are headed with this. And I understand and respect your opinion. But, I couldn't disagree more.

So far, I've been cheeky and silly on this thread. Let me offer a more thoughtful opinion.

Bubblegum pink, sparkly silver, acid green, neon yellow... The color absolutely does NOT matter for age. I could halfway (not really) see that some styles may not be for a certain age but, I really can't see an age limit on color.

Any woman can look good in any color depending on how the style of the item suits her aesthetic. When I get older, I am not limiting myself to a blah rose / pale pink if I want a wild bright pink. I wear strong colors. A rose pink would be a poor add to my particular wardrobe.

And, while I would never wear a bag shaped like a panda or with Hello Kitty plastered on it because it doesn't fit my style, the Betsey Johnson's of this world are making those so called juvenile items work though they are aging Baby Boomers...or older. I say they should go for it and look up to their fierce approach to fashion. I won't mimic it. But I love seeing it! And am occasionally inspired by it to take a teeny chance in my wardrobe.

Additionally, color is cultural, taste, style, situation and personality driven. Saying I shoudk reconsider wearing a hot pink bag when I turn 50 is like saying someone in India must wear a white wedding gown to their traditional ceremony. We have arbitrary standards based on what you / we / she / he / I am used to. And of all the things on this planet, I think the one area we shouldn't feel bound by rules in is fashion. Certainly not someone else's rules.

Judging someone's bag color as too young for them? Nope. Never. It just may not be your or even my taste. You and I may even agree and think - what the heck! But they may look fabulous wearing it and we may be missing the boat.

So I applaud your classic rose pink bag, a middle aged woman's super huge fuchsia patent leather tote, and an octogenarian's hot pink alligator clutch. I bet everyone looks stunning in all of them. 😊
