When is it too old to wear pink and red bags?

Love how everyone in this thread is so self-confident and sticks to whatever they feel like wearing/ buying! I'm 29 and occasionally wear my pink mulberry which is perfect for travelling, for more chic occasions I have a red Dior which I will most likely carry until the day I get tired of it (read: until the day I die) [emoji164]

I'm in my mid 40s and I have no problem with red. I'm on the hunt for pre-owned red medium Chanel boy because I'm excited to have a pop of color ImageUploadedByPurseForum1443703232.703537.jpg. I say go for what you love and stop worrying about what others may think or conceive.

When I'm dead.
Even may leave a note to be buried with mulberry pink bays clutch wallet.
And red sneakers. :D

:D You will definitely look gorgeous on "the other side".

Jenny Joseph’s “When I Am AnOld Woman I Shall Wear Purple”
When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn’t go, and doesn’t suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we’ve no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I’m tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick flowers in other people’s gardens
And learn to spit.

You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.

But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.

But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.

OMG I love this book!!!! My college roomie gave me a copy when we graduated and I totally thought of it when I saw this thread. I guess great minds think alike :p

I'm 26 and I have a lot of pink and red bags. Will I be too old to wear them once I'm 30? 40? 50?

I think it depends on what kind of person you are. If you're the type to judge people that you see at 26 who are older than you (ie 30, 40, 50) and look down on them for the fashion choices that they make then I say stick to carrying what the bloggers and magazines tell you to carry. If you're the type to appreciate women of all ages for their style choices then you already know inside yourself that you're never too old or too young or too whatever for whichever bag you want to carry.

I don't know about pink, but I feel like red bags are classic, timeless…ageless. I can't imagine someone being "too old" for a red bag! I'd imagine the same goes for pink bags if that's what you love. Who cares what others think?

ETA: I agree with the above poster that it depends on the bag, too. A hot-pink-and-leopard-print Betsey Johnson bag would probably look a little age inappropriate on a woman of a certain age (although I still believe she should rock it if she wants to). A lipstick pink YSL or a blush pink Chanel…no way.
exactly

'Nuff said. The Queen can do colorblocking too!

I love that photo! I also love the photos of her riding her ponies. May we all, no matter our circumstances, continue to live life to the fullest and not care what anyone else thinks (which, ironically, is an ability that improves with age).

i've honestly always associated red bags with the older age category.
as for pink, i guess it depends, if it's more of a nudish pink i guess you could get away with wearing it at any age, i wouldn't think hot pink/fuschia would be suitable though.
but then again, you should be able to rock whatever you feel like

When are you too old to wear jeans? Or have long hair? It's all the same thing. I refuse to let anyone tell me when I am too old to wear something. I'm mid forties and will rock my coloured bags as much as my neutrals until they bore me and I decide to stop. Be yourself.

My mother is 63, a breast cancer survivor, and rocks the heck out of fuchsia and Coach pink ruby- type shades of pink, as well as more traditional shades of pink. I'm nearly 40, and I love my pink ruby and red bags.

So I'm going with never.

You must be my sister :D

I can spot my mother a mile away (similar age to yours) by her bright pink and ruby red (Chanel and Coccinelle) bags. My mother is fabulous, as your must be too!
