When did they first notch the rivet?

rivets on 2005 - some do and some don't have the rivets with notches
I had a taupe with no notches
I think it was the first year they were "notching" - so 2004 wouldn't have them

I think s/s 05 and earlier had the flat rivets and f/w 05 is when they started using the notched rivets.

^^ that's correct - s/s 05 bags do not have notches, f/w 05 bags do. however, on the black FIRST size bags, some of the s/s 05's do and some don't have the notches in the rivets. weird, i know, but true
