What’s your everyday bag? Your grab & go?

Hi all! Just purchased a Speedy 20 in noir empreinte. Love the size of it and fits all my basics. I was torn btw the 20 and 25 and keen to get thoughts. I’m 5’4 and 54kg so when I tried on both - the 20 looks perfect, the 25 looks a bit big tbh but okay when slightly flattened at the top. I have 2 kids (3,5) and tend to use my Neverfull PM often or a Pallas BB. I was surprised my stuff all fit in the 20 (sunglasses case, keys, mini accessoires and phone) and love the look of that. Just not sure if I made the wrong decision because the 25 whilst bigger might end up being more functional and therefore used. I talked myself out of that argument because I thought i have 2 other midsize bags (NeverfullPM and Pallas BB). Would really appreciate thoughts. Thank you

For me, it's either my Hermès Bolide or my Louis Vuitton Sofia Coppola. They're the perfect handbags to my mind. They're totally functional, easy to use, they hold everything... but they're also elegant and discreetly beautiful IMO.

Hi. I don't own the 20 but own two 25 Speedies. I'm 5"1" and 45kg and don't find them big at all. I find them the perfect size. Audrey Hepburn had LV make the size 25 for her because I think she was like 88 pounds and if you look at photos with her wearing it, it looks perfect imho

I use Alma bb when I’m not with my kids and from my understanding the size of Alma bb is similar to speedy 20’s (but speedy 20 fits slightly more). I ended up selling my NF pm since I really needed crossbody bags after I had my kids. Do you plan on using your speedy 20 when you’re with your kids? I think it all depends on what you plan on carrying - I need my speedyb 25 when I have my kids since I carry their yeti water bottle in there. I always “squish” my speedies though since I only carry them crossbody and I love the squishy look. If you love the look of the 20 on you, that’s probably the most important thing as long as you feel like it fits everything you need especially if (I’m assuming) Pallas bbs size is similar to the 25s?

Also. Just thinking about it - I think the Pallas BB is more similar in size to the Speedy 20… Hmm. I think i got swayed by the cute factor vs actual functionality.

I totally understand about the art work!lol. For this reason.. I also have a neverfull mm lol I went through a crazy letting go & purchasing of bags phase after having my kids and I use the neverfull mm or just a non brand cute tote for their artwork, folders etc. when I have my totes with me, I do like to carry the Alma bb crossbody (the only time I do when I’m with my kids) to carry essentials like my wallet phone sunglasses etc (and not the speedy b25 as it is a much bigger bag than the Alma and I prefer carrying these by itself). I try my best to be strategic when it comes to what bags I need, will actually use, and in what situations. lol I know some people dislike carrying 2 bags but if you don’t mind it this might work for you with your speedy 20?

I also have a neverfull mm lol I went through a crazy letting go & purchasing of bags phase after having my kids and I use the neverfull mm or just a non brand cute tote for their artwork, folders etc. when I have my totes with me, I do like to carry the Alma bb crossbody (the only time I do when I’m with my kids) to carry essentials like my wallet phone sunglasses etc (and not the speedy b25 as it is a much bigger bag than the Alma and I prefer carrying these by itself). I was thinking that as well. But then just thinking - if I pop into London - do I want to put a water bottle in my bag, or take my hat off etc… Just doubting myself. TBH i was then thinking maybe I should get a DE Speedy as the alternative (that is super greedy of me). I also saw a Epi Speedy 25 (no strap) avail second hand and wondered if I could add a strap. Then thought that if I am thinking of all these things already maybe I should just get the S25B. Saying that - I have a small Bayswater with strap and that’s mainly half empty unless I’m going into town or around. Just feeling maybe the S25 is the better overall purchase - though I do love the 20. Ahh!!

Normally it’s my Delightful PM in Mono, it’ so easy to grab and now and holds everything I need to take (meds and asthma inhaler), but recently with the snow and rain we’re having where I live it’s been the Longchamp La Pilage small, black work brown trip.

In the summer it’s an old Gucci that’s shaped like an Alma, white with a floral print.

Well, I certainly have some thoughts!

I am your height but weigh quite a bit more. I have a Speedy 30 B, which is a great bag that fills may needs. I have had 2 Speedy 25s (canvas and epi) and I could not offload them fast enough! The absolutely did not work for me, but I cannot tell you why.

I also had a Speedy 25 empriente in Infini that I sold because, some dumb reason including the color, and that is the only bag sell I regret. Absolutely wonderful bag. How is it that 2 different materials were terrible for me and a third was perfect--all the same bag? I don't know, but there you go.

I currently have two Speedy 20s they are absolutely wonderful. One in lambskin and one in vachetta. My trusty TP 19 fits, though I feel like it the edges rub going in and out too easily, but I am pretty sure these are forever bags. You have medium size bags to fit that need, I'd think long hand hard before parting with the 20. It's a great bag! I hope you enjoy it!

I do use my Vachetta 20 as an everyday bag, so much as I use an everyday bag. I swap my bags a lot. My totaly, end all, easy, fits everything everyday bag is my 30. So carefree, canvas is trusty, but the vachetta 20 is my good, neutral everyday bag.

Hi! Yes I think so - but if I understand correctly - the vachetta is the monogram? And the 30 is the Damier right. So perhaps the leather is less suitable for daily use? Hmm. Ok thank you - that’s so helpful x
