What's the most disappointing bag you've ever bought?

Quality wasn't the issue with my most disappointing handbag experience. I bought my daughter a small Prada hobo for Christmas several years ago from a major retailer. I didn't realize it came with some free, surprise bonus items. Before I wrapped it I checked it over and unzipped the inside pocket. Inside I found a movie stub, a gum wrapper, a sticky tube of lip gloss, a dirty comb and a scrunchie full of hair. Obviously someone returned their used handbag with some of their stuff still inside and the store didn't notice before putting the bag back out on the shelf. That was a huge life lesson! Since then I will not buy a handbag without closely inspecting it before I leave the store.

LV Montorgueil GM...shoulder straps were way too short, only one tiny pocket inside and it was just a boring bag for me (I much prefer hobo like bags). Anyway, it sat in my closet for years and I finally consigned it yesterday...very disappointing all around.

Oh this is a very helpful thread, I am getting over my lust for a Bal City and a YSL Muse. It's interesting to see most names have issues. My biggest hate is with all the money you spend, should the inside of the bag have "peeling and sticky" problems?? I have a number of L V and Gucci and everytime I take them out, I look, like, is it starting? My old Dooney and Coach bags have held up really well. I should just go on ban so I don't have to think about what I want next. Other than the muse and city, I have been thinking of the Longchamp Cosmos Kudo, the new Tory Burch suede satchels, any info?

Coach Bag---The worst bag ever
I can't remember the name, but it came in patent leather and a shoulder bag. The shoulder strap was attach to a silver chain. Less than 6 months I was using it, the leather started to peel off, and the strap was torn half way from the chain
I brought it back to the store, and there wasn't anything they could do. They said "Oh, we are sorry. We can't do anything about this. It happens because it's a patent leather."
Conclusion is: Never ever buy a patent leather bag, especially from Coach where there is no after-sale customer service. SUCKS. I hate it so much since I can get other bag for 780$.

Totally agreed with you NO PATENT BAG FROM COACH. I have an experience that my Coach Patent Carly bag. I carried her twice and stored in the dust bag. Months later took it out and found that the color faded. Took it back to the store and they could not do anything about it. They refunded me less than what I paid for.

I have been interested in a Roady. I am curious about how it didn't work for you. Was it an appearance thing where it was not flattering to you or was it a functioning thing like not being able to find stuff in it?

I found that the strap dug into my shoulder. That wasn't very comfortable and that is the main reason I let mine go. However, I will add that it did seem to be a "substantial bag" meaning that from a style perspective there wasn't anything light or flirty about it. It didn't look good with a sundress or shorts. But with so many other outfits it looked very chic.

Thank you for the information.

I only bought 1 Coach in my life; it was a large brown satchel with outside pockets and buckles, one of the legacy Collection, and one of the buckle's metal tongue broke in under a month. I took it back to the store and they sent it back to Coach to repair. Coach refused saying it was not normal damage! (REALLY??)The store was very embarrassed and cooperative and really tried to help, finally refunding my money but of course taking a loss themselves. I was so angry at Coach I've never bought another.

Miu Miu paloma, after a year of lusting, and a month of waiting when I bought it, it fell apart when I opened the box and took its handle, rivets fell out, handle detached, service zero for Miu Miu......horrific quality
