What's the first handbag you ever had?

Excluding the kiddy purses I had as a kid, my first handbag was a DKNY tote I bought to use in college. And my first higher end designer handbag was a Gucci black monogram with bamboo handles I bought when I started working at my first job out of college. I wore it everyday for 2 or 3 years before resting it as I got other bags. I prob still have it somewhere around the house now 12 years later but do not use it anymore.

If not counting my first ever bag (a small, yellow barrel bag I got from my godmother around the age 5) and schoolbags, I think it was a brown nubuck cluth I bought from a flea market as a teen. It was originally a belt bag but I tweaked it so it became a stylish clutch for me to carry to parties and other outings. I had it for several years.
First designer bag was a Mulberry Flight bag in 2006. After that, I somehow slid into Longchamp and from there back to Mulberry in 2011.

Mine was a Coach east west madison tote in hot pink. I never thought I would ever pay $300 for a bag - and a few years later, buying bags 10x that price seem normal (even if it's expensive)!

I started with some Vera Bradley bags in college (do those count?) And got a brown Coach with the C's from an outlet shortly after college. I remember feeling so special because I had a $250.00 bag. Not that there is anything wrong with bags in that price range but I have a bit more expensive taste these days lol

I don't remember the designer, I think it might have said Ellen Tracy on the inside, but the first handbag (that I bought) was a beautiful doctor-style satchel in a warm caramel colour pebbled leather.
